I Won’t Give Up Lyrics
Here’s to fear
‘nother circus election year
Clown-didates pretend they’re human beings
Here’s the ads
We vote and someone wins
That’s all we’re allowed to really change
Flatscreen flatscreen on the wall
Who’s the best marketed of all
Best disguising what an asshole
They really are
I’ve had enough of this
We’ve had enough of this
Audacity to exploit hope for cash
I won’t give up
I won’t give up
I won’t give up
It’s not an option
Ain’t a fight
Red, blue, or black and white
It ain’t like changing channels on TV
Ain’t left or right
Or donkeys and elephants
It’s the top against the bottom
That is real
The good uprisings
They seem to come in waves
Splash! Then recede
Then splash again
Don’t believe the hype
We’re the ones being patriotic
When we rise
To fight
Our government
When they’re wrong
I won’t give up
I won’t give up
I won’t give up
It’s not an option
While everybody around me
Feels broken down and defeated
I feel this surge of energy
I wanna rock and roll
Let my sick humor explode
Smile as I set everything on fire
So in my own small way
I’d rather make history
Than watch it on TV
So I made a vow
And you can do it now
Corporations can’t have me
Insurrection
Streets, votes, with our cash
Goodbye Coca-Cola
And chain stores
Holier than thou
Whine you ain’t done enough
Well, doing something’s
Better than doing nothing at all
We stopped Vietnam
Got civil rights and new deals
Kuz we kept a blowtorch up their ass
All that stands in the way
Of more wars and Abu Ghraibs
Ain’t messiahs
It is us
I won’t give up
I won’t give up
I won’t give up
It’s not an option

"Ain't left or right Or donkeys and elephants It's the top against the bottom"
Thank you Jello! It's nice to know there is a musician I feel like I can still trust to speak the truth.
Don't believe the whole "hope" hype. No politician is going to get into office to solve your problems, you've got to work for yourself if you really want to be free.
"Flatscreen flatscreen on the wall Who`s the best marketed of all"?
Poltical campaigns are just a fucking sharade. It
s all about money, if you dont have money in politics, you ain`t shit. Which, by the way, stands contrary to democracy. How are we supposed to be be fairly represented, when most politicians make more than we could ever make? Also, the song talks about bipartisanship, the fact that there are only two major parties, it does not make a lot of difference who you vote for...
