no comments? wtf! This song is amazing, it sounds like Radiohead but is not a pale imitation. Truly brilliant work from the Norwegians. As for the meaning, I'm guessing it refers to the good memories lingering after a bad breakup. |

luminescent. the title fits well. I don't find the song religious, being atheist, but it's still quite emotionally touching. |

What a great song, it's a lot more aggressive and punk-oriented than the others on this album. I think it's simply about machines and technology being so widespread that they become part of life. |

seems to be about all those characters invented and believed in in youth, like Santa or the Tooth Fairy and that kind of thing, though it may be a metaphor, maybe for karma, I dunno, great song. |

amazing song, could be about any kind of relationship being ended, whether it be a romantic one, a friendship, a job, anything. My favorite off of Free Hand, and currently my second favorite out of all their songs, after the amazing Wreck. |

This is probably my favorite VDGG song, they can be surprisingly catchy at times. Anyway, I think it's about a person who's mean and violent, so nobody wants to be with them. The whole "your mother gave birth to you" part is, I guess, about him being abandoned by his family for his ways. And the rest after that is about him regretting all this and wanting people to love him. |

In 1992, Kraftwerk and other bands did a concert to protest the nuclear reactor at Sellafield. So yeah, they are against radioactivity. |

Love the second part. That is my world view.
Screw technology, go back to how things were meant to be.
Hell yeah. |

I love this song so much. I think of the lonely nights when there's no one to talk to, so I sit in front of the computer and immerse myself in it. |

Well, I prefer Kraftwerk's music, but I think the Beatles are more influential, simply because they helped form EVERYTHING. |

Ramthar, other people like other music than you. Just cus you don't like a band, that doesn't mean that the band and their fans are idiots. I doubt you know Thom personally, so don't say things about him that are probably not true. And they stopped playing Creep because people wanted to hear it again and again and again and I guess it really sucks playing one song over and over and over until it loses its meaning. In summary, don't be all aggressive and saying Radiohead sucks, that's just an opinion. So go back into your room and listen to Creed, or whatever the hell you call good, and I'll listen to Radiohead. Goodbye. |

| Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Tarkus Lyrics

I see a meaning of rebirth and redemption in this song. Tarkus lives a vicious, violent life and does not realize that it is being lived wrong [Stones of Years]. When he is defeated by the Manticore, he realizes his violent ways were not the right path- violence does not help. it only ends up hurting- he hurt himself and those he fought. So, he redeems himself- he goes into the sea, a completely new machine. At the end of Aquatarkus, the same music from Eruption is played- Tarkus has been born anew. That's just my take on it, seems good IMO. I love this song, it's 20 minutes and never boring. Epic. |
