Killer Lyrics
So you live in the bottom of the sea,
and you kill all that come near you ....
but you are very lonely, because all the other fish
fear you .....
And you crave companionship and someone to call your own;
because for the whole of your life you've been living alone.
On a black day in black month
at the black bottom of the sea,
Your mother gave birth to you and died
immediately ....
'Cos you can't have two killers living in the same pad
and when your mother knew that her time had come
she was really rather glad.
Death in the sea, death in the sea,
somebody please come and help me, come and help me
Fishes can't fly, fishes can't fly,
Fishes can't and neither can I, neither can I ....
Now I'm really rather like you,
for I've killed all the love I ever had
by not doing all I ought to and by leaving my mind coming
bad.
And I too am a killer, for emotion runs as deep as flesh
and I too am so lonely, and I wish that I could forget
We need love,
We need love,
We need love ......
and you kill all that come near you ....
but you are very lonely, because all the other fish
fear you .....
And you crave companionship and someone to call your own;
because for the whole of your life you've been living alone.
at the black bottom of the sea,
Your mother gave birth to you and died
immediately ....
'Cos you can't have two killers living in the same pad
and when your mother knew that her time had come
she was really rather glad.
somebody please come and help me, come and help me
Fishes can't fly, fishes can't fly,
Fishes can't and neither can I, neither can I ....
for I've killed all the love I ever had
by not doing all I ought to and by leaving my mind coming
bad.
And I too am a killer, for emotion runs as deep as flesh
and I too am so lonely, and I wish that I could forget
We need love,
We need love,
We need love ......

GREAT song. Killer is one of VDGG's heaviest rock'n rolling songs. I had the pleasure to see VDGG in 2006 in Amsterdam (melkweg) with J/Sackson.: Peter announced this song like: "So you want to hear some real rock and roll now?" :-) This song is clearly about a monster. And Peter feels like such a monster too: "Now I'm really rather like you, for I've killed all the love I ever had"
I have no clue WHAT he is excactly refering to, but it must have been a bad sad time...
In addition to the posted previously and whatever the personal reasons of the lyrics, I can't help but feel a reference to the killer whale as the "monster" in this song (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_whale)..
From wikipedia: "Killer whales feature strongly in the mythologies of indigenous cultures, with their reputation ranging from being the souls of humans to merciless killers"...
And yeah, they'll kill almost anything that comes accross. Ironically anything except humans (maybe they feel some sympathy in likeness in that aspect, who the hell knows?).
@daisukeman Your interpretation is the best, since some of the lyrics are about sea and living underneath the sea level. Clearly it's about whales, or at least a passing nod to them.

This is probably my favorite VDGG song, they can be surprisingly catchy at times. Anyway, I think it's about a person who's mean and violent, so nobody wants to be with them. The whole "your mother gave birth to you" part is, I guess, about him being abandoned by his family for his ways. And the rest after that is about him regretting all this and wanting people to love him.
