| Dio – Night Music Lyrics

These lyrics are so great and uplifting. I like to think that the song is about daydreaming. Dio uses the word "night" not to describe a dark and cold place but rather a magical place where anything could happen. |

| Bruce Dickinson – No Way Out... to be continued Lyrics
| 14 years ago

A very strange song. Seems to be about a guy who's unable to leave his apartment because he's afraid to step on his shagpile carpet and he actually seems to be fine with that.
I also thought that this song could be about compulsive hoarding disorder. |

| Dio – Electra Lyrics
|
This song was meant to be a teaser of the planned Magica II and III albums. Sounds like the protagonist is in love with a woman named Electra. But it also seems to be a warning that there's danger coming. Anyway it's hard to say what exactly the song is about since Dio saddly wasn't able to finish the Magica project before his death.
R.I.P. |

| Black Sabbath – Master of Insanity Lyrics

Well, I think the last line of the song is really revealing. It's about the madman within us all. It's kind of a darker version of "Heaven and Hell". We are the cause of all good and all evil in this world, so we have the power to "open our eyes" and do the right thing, or we can choose to be egoistic and uncaring. |

| Bruce Dickinson – Wicker Man Lyrics
|
This song seems to be more about the celtic ritual than the 1973 movie. According to Julius Caesar the Wicker Man was used for human sacrifices to praise the gods. However some believe that this was rather war propaganda and there were no human sacrifices.
Anyway, there's just one thing I don't know about these lyrics. What is the "hill of Tarna"? |

| Black Sabbath – The Sabbath Stones Lyrics

The Sabbath Stones are the Ten Commandments. The song is basically about how religious leaders throughout history told people to take heed of them but on the other hand slew every unbeliever.
Anyway one of the best songs of the Tony Martin era. |

| Iron Maiden – Starblind Lyrics

I think the song is about how conventional religion is more or less degrading life itself by claiming that the purpose of all beings lies in afterlife and the here and now is nothing but a test. People believe this and try everything to get to heaven but never truly live their lives.
Anyway, this song contains probalbly the best lyrics Maiden's ever written. They can be interpreted in many ways which is always cool. So many so called artists today claim they write lyrics which mean something different for everyone else, but honestly, only a few really succeed. |

| Helloween – The Madness of the Crowds Lyrics

Pretty dark lyrics for Helloween. I think it is about how easy the masses can be manipulated by politicians or the media. And how we use to believe those who share our own view of the world and reject any other opinion. |

| Iron Maiden – Satellite 15...The Final Frontier Lyrics

Pretty self-explanatory: This guy is trapped inside this satellite and the satellite is drawn towards the sun. However, he realizes that he ain't afraid of dying because he "lived his life to the full". |

| Paradise Lost – The Rise Of Denial Lyrics

Quite simple: a guy lacking courage in almost every way. He prefers to deny all the problems, his own and of the world, until the denial doesn't work out anymore and he's paying the price for it. |

I personally think the song is rather about a person being absolutely disillusione by life and everything. The song describes the person's way into cynism. |

I think the song is about a person seeking a paradise but in the end he finds that the real paradise is inside of him. |

this one is about a sad person who thinks that his entire life is just one big mistake. however he doesn't blame himself for his failures. he didn't learn anything from it and prefers to put the blame on everyone else but him. |

| Paradise Lost – Fallen Children Lyrics

i've heard somewhere that this song is about polution. but i'm not sure about it. it rather seems to be about god looking at mankind and realizing that his entire creation is just plain evil. |

| Paradise Lost – Divided Lyrics
|
|
the song is about mankind's ability to speak and interact with other people. anyway we still stand "divided" meaning everyone stands alone in life. we may be able to talk to other people and make friends but still they will never fully understand you and you will never fully understand them. |

About a person losing his faith in God. He was feeling down for a very long time, prayed to God asking why, but he never got answers. So he turns his back on God forever. |

| Helloween – Kill It Lyrics

that's simple. it's about how mankind needs to take control over everything in this world. and how we destroy everything we just cannot control. great song with deris doing the halford. very pessimistic though. |

| Helloween – My Life for One More Day Lyrics

it might be the keeper himself. he's dying in the end and his final words are that he can't save mankind when mankind doesn't want to be saved. or telling mankind that they don't really need him and that they have the power to save themselves. |

| Heaven & Hell – Bible Black Lyrics

the first part still works with the drug-thing. the second "and just the words..." might mean that he regrets his habit, he's crying for redemption but God rejects him. |

| Heaven & Hell – Bible Black Lyrics
|
it might as well mean that the guy is doing his drug-thing over and over again. "i wish i could remember what i've done" leaves two options:
first, he couldn't remember what happened during his last trip
second, he's already so addicted that he isn't really aware of the reason why he's taking drugs, he's just doing it.
anyway, it was just a guess, since Dio used to write lyrics quite often that way. telling a dark, twisted tale which contains some political or social message. |

| Helloween – As Long as I Fall Lyrics
|
i think it's a more critcal song about civil courage or the lack thereof. the verses are about the guy "closing his eyes", not doing anything to prevent bad things to happen. in the chorus he tells that he doesn't care about the bad things going on as long as he feels save.
the metaphor of falling simply says that he knows that he could go under as well, that noone will help him if he gets in a bad situation, but as long as he doesn't "hit the ground" there's no need to take care. |

could it be the song is about Jesus Christ? there are a lot of references to him in this one. maybe a song about how Jesus feels about what some of these so-called christians do in his name. "troubled mind, the beating war drums in his ears". |

| Heaven & Hell – Bible Black Lyrics

|
probably the song has nothing to do with religion or occultism at all and the whole story is just a metaphor. i think the bible black is a metaphor for drugs. first he even talks about addiction in the song, second the first verses tell about a depressed guy who finds a way to escape his misery but then he got lost in it. |

| Heaven & Hell – Double the Pain Lyrics
|
i'm not sure about the euthanasia-thing. it rather seems to be about a guy who just likes to feel pain. an often reoccurring theme within Dio-songs.
anyway, i doubt that it's what the song is about, but when he sings "thunder and lightning, electric machines..." i always think about Dr. Frankenstein creating his monster...
however, it's one of the best of the album!!! |

| Heaven & Hell – Fear Lyrics

i think the song is about being afraid of the unknown. that's why he's saying "superstition go away". there is no need to be afraid of the unknown but still we are. Satan's daughter might be fear itself. |
