Rhodes, I'm a little shocked by how he told you it was about a friend. Part of the reason I love this song so much
is how I thought it was about himself, making it a really honest and humble song. I guess it can be interpreted however
It sounds so desperate and honest on the daytrotter session that I was almost completely convinced it was about himself.

This is a really good song.
It's like he's admitting that he had a lust/sex based relationship, but he let his feelings get in the way and he got hurt.
Or maybe he had a really good relationship with a girl, and the sex was really good, and he's using that to portray their relationship. |

This is such a good song. The feelings are expressed very clearly but I wonder what made him feel like this to write it. Maybe it's about a break up? I could difinitely relate these feelings to how I feel abuot my last break up. Any ideas? |

The only version I've been able to find is a bootleg live version, and it's pretty bad quality. If you search for "Owen 7 Bootlegs" you can find a torrent of 7 live recordings. They have this song and a few other rare ones.
These are such great lyrics. So poignant. I think it's about a girl. The feeling of when you lose someone and it seems like you're in a different world.

P.S. as far as the meaning of this song, I think Mike may be talking about himself the whole time, as he does often. But also it could definitely be a close family member or friend. This person keeps walking down a path of self destrction and unhealthy depression, and refuses to seek help. |
