So.... this song is basically the same as To Die For. Hows about the writer of the song gets a life, and learns to not write the same song twice? Releasing an album with 9 songs is OK. Equilibrium did it. |

To edit my first post:
Instead of wishing whoever was "poison" would die, can't he just be happy that they're gone? Also, this song is similar lyrically to All That Remains' song "This Calling." |

From what I can gather apparently the vocalist and his friends were held up at gunpoint, and he made a song out of it, and how alive one feels when adrenaline is pumping through your body. |

I can't tell if this song is a slam against christians (as was the case with I'm Sorry, I'm Lost). I suppose just that one line is.
The rest of the song appears to be about who feels he is just waiting for death to come, hence the deadline. He has reached his dreams, but wonders if this is really all there is. |

You know this is a brilliant song when it inspires such discussion as to what the meaning of the song is. And when it has a wonderful melody. One of the best songs of 2010. |

Possessing his soul
The curse of the damned
A tormented victim, to the bottom he's slammed
To me this seems like the demons are coming up and possessing him solely to torment him
One man stands alone
Tripped, under a spell
Encounter your demons, send them to Hell
And this part is basically telling the guy to face the demons and send them back from whence they came. |

I just noticed the part that starts at about 2:40 or so sounds a lot like Separation by As I Lay Dying, or at least very similar. Awesome song, I just got the album a week ago and loved it. |

Darkest Hour – An Ethereal Drain Lyrics

id say its about how a person lives on for eternity, but the body they grow up in is not eternal
but the persons soul does not just go to heaven or hell but is spread out
and it sortof has a regretful feel to it like nothing is complete
but is accepting the end as it comes
