Yes man kind fears what it doesn't understand but it's more complicated than that. This whole album as far as I know is based of the book Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot and the basic summary of the book is that holograms make sense out of what science and religion cant. Therefore I believe this song is loosely based off the idea that religion is just blinding people to what the universe is really like. A hologram. It can never break in two, and we are one with everything. If it interests you at all I highly recommend this book. It sheds light on almost every song on the album and it is mind blowing. It seriously changed my life and how I see things in this world.
sounds to me like they are talking to terrorists. "victimized by your duty" sounds like suicide bombers. "religion holds you and blinds you still" sounds like terrorists who believe they will spend eternity with 72 virgins in paradise when they blow themselves up like that. they have fear about going in and doing what they do. "and once awake you will find you got it all wrong" saying after they die and get their judgement they know they were wrong. just my thoughts
