| Nightwish – The Greatest Show on Earth Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| @[cganuelas:4897] May be a reference to that, yes, but ultimately it's the end of the world. | |
| Nightwish – Yours Is an Empty Hope Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| @[HiggsBoson:4896] It's got nothing to do with Tarja. It has to do with, essentially, seizing the day. | |
| Evanescence – Breathe No More Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| The songs about Amy's sister are "Hello" and "Like You" -- she had no problem coming directly out and saying that. So if "Breathe No More" is indeed about her sister, she's hiding it. | |
| Nightwish – Song Of Myself Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| They represent the extremest emotional change in music. | |
| Nightwish – Song Of Myself Lyrics | 12 years ago |

"Princess and the Panther" = Aladdin. Jasmine and Raja I realize that Raja is a tiger and not a panther, but it's the best connection. I don't remember any other Disney movie with a Princess and a cat. |

| Red – Not Alone Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Just an fyi, you come off as a jackass. "Your mistake" -- Sorry, but because we don't have access to the lyrics just yet, he did a damn good job listening to the words. And who the fuck cares if he didn't spell some words right? The fact is, he got the lyrics spot on except for the structure of the bridge. Pointing out some errors that need to be fixed is one thing, but you took it 10 steps further and just became a grammar nazi. GG. |

| Red – Hymn For The Missing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I can see this in two senses. One of which I'm currently going through. The first is he's lost himself, can't find him, and is wondering if the half of himself he lost is looking for him too, like a missing person. Just in this case, a soul-searching type of missing. I'm currently going through this myself with some things that my ex has said that has caused me to go into some deep depressions and this song totally gives off that same type of vibe. The second, believe it or not, is a relationship that didn't really end, it just vanished from both parties. Both asleep, and then one of them wakes up and leaves. As if to leave no trace behind. The party that is hurt, lost and confused is trying to figure out why they left. 'This heart I misplaced' he put his heart into the relationship, and now that it's over, he knows he put too much of himself in it. |

| Red – Faceless Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
In the chorus, it's 'fallen and faceless' instead of 'rotten and faceless'. I agree with swallow. The constant need for someone, and for them to be there gives you the reassurance you need to have a "face". And when they're gone, you have no meaning. No "face". |

| Chevelle – Wonder What's Next Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This is late, but, Sam doesn't write the lyrics. If you read the fine print, it clearly says that Pete writes the lyrics. | |
| Chevelle – A New Momentum Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Go crawl back under your rock, please. I'm sick of seeing these "9/11," "Hate Bush" and other explanations. When it comes to political lyrics, most bands come out and say "Song Name" is about "President/Political Movement/w/e." ESPECIALLY rock bands. | |
| Evanescence – You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Song was recorded in mid to late 90s. So it's been longer than just four to five years. Especially now. | |
| Evanescence – You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Only you sound like a moron. She asked her fans to not post this song and to get rid of it if they had it. That doesn't mean she has a monopoly on words, or that it's a law/copyright issue. It's called respect, dipshit. Something you obviously don't have for her. | |
| Fireflight – Name Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
The first time my mom and I heard this song, we started crying. I can totally see, in the first part, a true feeling of helplessness. Mom and dad praying to God, please, please PLEASE don't let our son die. Mom agreed with me, and the fact that the baby boy couldn't live his life. 7 days old, not even able to see the world yet. That has to make the parents feel really helpless and very... distraught. The chorus is just to remind us that He's always there, even when it seems like He's not, He is - He knows us. Better than anyone we know who say they know us. The second part is a little bit more positive, the man got to at least live his life before he crashed. Whether it was a stroke, heart attack or an actual car crash. The wife doesn't want to let him go, but I think she knows, deep down, that God is saying to her husband "It's your time. Come with me to escape the trauma of the world." The bridge is still more positivity - it doesn't matter where you are, whether you're the face in the crowd that no one sees, or the one alone in a house, or the one sitting alone in a cafeteria. He sees you, He knows you, and He's sitting there with you. |

| Chevelle – Jars Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Real lyrics obtained off of www.chevelleinc.com: Hold onto chance Lest we bleed ourselves Save for the pets They’re the loneliest Put into jars We’ll save this earth Put into jars We’ll save the earth We can’t both become the same pawn That’s made to fall Oil that tastes like Blood steals the summer scent From me to you You’re stabbing me through you You’re stabbing you through him And betting most of This world We’ll add enough of the world Steal from yourselves It never felt so good And feed from their hand’s Confuse by opposites Put into jars We’ll save this earth Put into jars Keep safe this earth Feeling manic for a day Depends on the trends Depends on the surface If the sun never sets This world We’ll add enough of the world Is the main thing you’ll shout Till the bitter end Into Jars |

| Nightwish – Romanticide Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
You know that by adding -cide to the end of a song, means "the death of". Suicide: "Death by him or herself," etc. So Romanticide isn't "anti-romance" it's "the death of romance" |

| Chevelle – Antisaint Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
^Hey, guy or whatever, drop the Christian thing. It's old. Especially considering they told people [LIKE EVANESCENCE] they don't want to be seen/heard/understood that way. On top of that: Want deep? Go listen to Nightwish. |
|
| Chevelle – Antisaint Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Sam didn't write any lyrics. Pete is the lyricist in the band. Read the print after the lyrics. "All lyrics by Pete Loeffler. All music by Chevelle" |

| Red – Out From Under Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Nearly every Christian Rock song can. :) | |
| Nightwish – Meadows of Heaven Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Tuomas has told us what this song is about, and if it wasn't Tuomas - it was Anette's interpretation; one of them said that "Meadows of Heaven" is about a Childhood Utopia, the things we lose and would want to go back to long lost. | |
| Nightwish – Meadows of Heaven Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Either you've JUST become a Nightwish fan, or you don't know much about them. Tuomas has never had a child, at least so far we know - he refers to himself as the 'Child' and 'Poet'. | |
| Nightwish – Amaranth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Then how do you explain Cadence? | |
| Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum (Demo) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It could, considering that we don't know the full background of Nightwish. | |
| Red – Fight Inside Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
EDIT: And because I like having different meanings, here's my take on it: The person depicting themself(ves) can be in pain, not any type of pain but a pain of not having enough self-esteem or being betrayed in the worst way possible but still continue on loving or caring for that person (so far, I've gone through every motion that I have) and it just starts eating the person alive, because they feel like they shouldn't have forgiven them, and that they should have to pay for what they've done. "It's nothing, It's everything" Can reference to the fact that they SAY it's nothing, but they know that it's everything. "It's breaking me, I'm falling apart" Can further prove the fact that what they say and what they know is breaking their spirit causing them to fall apart at the seams. @Shep: God stated that He IS THE Alpha and THE Omega. But this song states "MY beginning and MY end" |
|
| Red – Fight Inside Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
That could be a good Religious take on it, but because not everyone who comes here is Christian, the song can be taken in many ways. Yes, Red has said that they are a Christian band, but nowhere in their lyrics do they state 'God' or 'demons' or anything "religious." So any song unless given a STRICT meaning to can be taken in any way, shape or form. :) |

| Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum (Demo) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Ah, you're right. 'For eleven years' | |
| Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum (Demo) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Scream part: "2nd robber to the right of Christ! Cut in half - infanticide The world will rejoice today As the crows feast on the rotting poet Everyone must bury their own No pack to bury the heart of him all Now he's home in hell serve's him well Slain by the bell tolling for his farewell!" |
|
| Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum (Demo) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| And the other spoken year is 2007, not 2005. | |
| Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum (Demo) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The real "spoken" is: "Would you like to rape my rotting carcass? Dissect my heart, and desecrate the rest It would make you cum, wouldn't it? You live long enough to hear the sound of guns, Long enough to find yourself screaming every night Long enough to see your friends betray you For years, I've been strapped unto this altar Now I only have three minutes and counting I just wish the tide would catch me first And give me the death I always longed for" |
