It is about class war - He's fantasising about seducing a middle class woman, taking from a middle class man that he is jealous of. He wants to bring everyone down to his level. The results and possibly the views of every lowerclass person who see's "i spy" middle class people goign about thier day and wanting revenge and wanting thier lives! Though he's too stupid to carry out his plans "every night i hatch my plans.. how i will get my satisfaction" he never actually does it. I think this song is about, an unhealthy relationship with a new boyfriend that a girl has got herself into. Jarvis is the 'first time' - he misses her pink glove - probably sexual reference ~ as a man masturbates with his hand - the glove refers to her genitals that he is just using her for sex, as though sex isnt about love, "he doesnt care what it looks like.. just as long as it's pink and it's tight" - ie sex with anyone. just lust "he's got your heart" meaning that she loves him and "you've got his soul" - not as good as love. To me this song is about someone who's been locked up - detatched from the modern world (busy city) as a social outcast who's friends dont understand him, who wants to escape as he feels he doesnt belong there albeit - a 'subterranean' 'homesick' 'Alien' Frickin love the guitar in this - couldnt think of better effects and rifts to make it sound like shooting stars across the night sky Favourite song ever :P |
