| Joanna Newsom – Bridges and Balloons Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I would assume a "loom of metal" to be a harp, but it doesn't really fit warp/woof (actual loom phrases) or "wimble" (a kind of drill) | |
| Lisa Hannigan – Ocean and a Rock Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
"I spoon you into my coffee cup / Spin you through a delicate wash" Those are the only lines which make me question your interpretation. It's surprisingly easy to see this song as about a phone rather than a distant lover. |

| Splashdown – A Charming Spell Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| Actually, this song was going to be the intro for Charmed. It was swapped nearly last-minute. | |
| Freezepop – Sprode Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Song is called Super Sprode, unfortunately. | |
| Polly Scattergood – Untitled 27 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I'm not whether this is trying to show someone struggling to express something they feel (probably unrequited love). Since it appears on the album before Poem Song I nearly feel that it's about the struggle to create something to express how you feel, but "It wasn't good enough". And it changes into a way to either forget or to deal with the pain of what has to be separation. |

| Clannad – Harry's Game Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| A real shame the fadas are missing. Makes it harder to read, if you know Irish. | |
| Polly Scattergood – I Hate The Way Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It's on the CD. And I'd say it's on legit downloads. | |
| Symbion Project – Pawn to King 4 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Wish I could find the full version starting "And now, in response to the diminishing number of requests" | |
| Symbion Project – An ocean full of waves Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Reconciliation. I like how the album moves from "All bad things have to begin" through this attempt to get back together or pretend every thing's fine again, and then moving towards Self-destruct and Self-destroyed. |

| Lisa Mitchell – Neopolitan Dreams Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I know Lisa likes to use repetition of lyrics through a song, but reading the last verse makes it seem that she's dreaming about him (and reaching "the highest of highs"). | |
| Lisa Mitchell – Neopolitan Dreams Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| She's putting a happy twist one someone leaving her. "You go on, I'll be okay" - someone's leaving. It confuses her, makes her feel strange, but "there are no legible signs". It was either a surprise or it just left her feeling less of herself. | |
| Lisa Mitchell – Love Letter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Such a sad song. But wonderful for it. | |
| Bat for Lashes – Seal Jubilee Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It's the opening line that makes me wonder about this song. It starts so happy... but then the sharks howl, and the whale is lonely. The Black Snow, that ends it all... another mystery. Pollution wouldn't stay "out of love", so what is it? |
|
| Bat for Lashes – Seal Jubilee Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Dived is older, and looks better when written down than "dove" (a type of bird?). "I dove in" is harder to sing as well, I think. | |
| Camille – Vertige Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Translation (in full) seems to be: Nailed to the ground The Cogne bird From here and there Colonies of stork Leave without him Although say Amazing numbers aerobatic In the air free Birds also feel vertigo Drunk with alcohol What is this man? Plod-plod (sad walking sounds) Of brown Full of bitterness He knows only that Although say Amazing numbers aerobatic In the air free Birds also feel vertigo |

| Red Snapper – Image of You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| For some bizarre reason, these lyrics do not appear to be on any website... except for some odd (possibly Russian) blog. | |
| Cathy Davey – All of You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I really can't work out this song. It comes across as someone a little too infatuated, but almost sinister edge to their actions/thoughts. | |
| Sneaker Pimps – Becoming X Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
There's a bit missing after the second verse: Still see me? There's a punishment needed Obsolete Very nearly something to be |
|
| Camille – Pâle Septembre Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
There are a few lines missing (the english part), just after "Mais qui est cet homme qui tombe amoureux ?": " I'll never go to the sun I'll never ever know if he's alive I'll never reach the sun I'll never ever know if he is still alive I'll never reach the sun! " |

| Bell X1 – White Water Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Even the 5-measure makes it seem quite unbalanced. A very noticeable song, a bit too rough on the first listening. | |
| Bell X1 – Just Like Mr Benn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's definitely long-distance based on the lyrics. Even the image of "We were the clock hands at midnight / Now you're four whole hours behind" implies his girl moved to the US. Such a lovely song. | |
| Camille – Vertige Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| A wonderful song. The melody gives a light, near happy, air. But once you find the meaning of the lyrics, it leaves you close to crying. | |
| Camille – Vertige Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's one of those times direct translation is not the best... but even the best I can do does not match the French "In the air, free / The bird also suffer vertigo" - it really shouldn't end with a masculine ending. | |
| Björk – Joga Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure it is Icelandic. It sounds very similar to the lines in The Modern Things which have been translated. | |
| Björk – Lilith Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The story of Lilith (that I remember) is that she was made from the clay, equal to Adam... but then got into trouble for pronouncing YHVH (God's unpronouncable name). She was cast out and her children were to die each day or year (I think it was 100 per day, or something else of biblical proportions). Luna (the moon) is the symbol of divine femininity (or just feminine, depending). So, it's either about her getting revenge on Jennifer (as coldclay says) or possibly getting active with Jennifer. |
