Humans tend to be remarkably good at seeing supposed patterns where there are none, just as you have done here. The song is awful, the lyrics are just describing mundane activities, and the video is haphazardly throw together. And she's singing through her nose the whole time. And the atuotune makes me want to strangle kittens, and I love kittens. inb4 "you've also missed the forest for the trees, and fallen into the (adjective) (noun) of (adjective) in the process, thereby..." I agree with OldSkool that the singer is already dead, but by killing himself after his lover left him. It took me a few listens to figure it out, but then I realized it would make sense. "The neighbors have guessed" that he's dead "'cos [he's] canceled the milk, and they don't hear your voice through the walls anymore" because she's left him. "Each second seems like a lifetime" because in death there's no sense of time, I suppose. And "the cat has been staring" at the body. It seems like the spirit of the person is aware of what's happening and talking as if he was still in his body. |

I love this band,but the meanings of their songs escape me completely, save for No One Loves Me, which I think I am taking entirely too much at face value. Any thoughts at all? |

Personally, I like everything Atreyu has made. One of my friends told me about them a while ago, and I recently went ahead and got their whole discography. After listening to all of it, I can say that I like pretty much every song. They're a great band, and Alex's screams are really passionate. This song is in no way like country. I like all different kinds of music besides country and can say that if it were like country, I would not like this song. As a fan of their old and new music, I can see how some people might not like this in comparison to Suicide Notes or The Curse, but I can say that I know at least one person likes the band as a whole, not as a collection of individual, unrelated albums. |
