| Nah the song's totally about coke. And just coke. He and this girl were hangin out one night or was on a date or somethin, and they heard about a party with drugs aplenty. The constant repititions of the 'was a good idea in the evening, but not so good in the morning' theme refers to the crash you get from coke. The love in the evening by the morning won't exist refers to how the love was only from the influence of the coke. The constant trips to the bathroom could either be her sniffing more coke, or just her throwing up from all the coke. Definitely an awesome coke-filled song. And it's NOT about a eating disorder. | |

well, you guys may think its only about the sun, but i think its a little bit of both the sun and a girl. i think that previously something happened with him and a girl, and they were apart from each other. and then a miracle happened, and they finally made up or something and he refers to that event (or possibly a person??) as a miracle sun, and he feels like they can only truly have a good time when that persons around, so hes asking the 'miracle sun' to stay, and the sun analogy works out really well because, just like the sun, that person cant be around all the time. but hes asking still if he can go wherever that person goes, and thats why he says in the chorus WE dont want to be without you. he uses WE because hes referring to him and the girl, because they both realise how important that miracle sun is to their relationship. ok i admit its a little far-fetched but i think it fits pretty good, so yeah. dont judge me too harshly on this.... |

Anyone looked at the title of this song?? "stranger, you and i" is a line in a famous poem by robert frost which, incidentally, i think is where kenny gets a lot of his inspiration from. looking at the poem, i kinda tried to make sense of the song, because the first hundred times i looked at it i just couldnt make sense of it. but idk, this is just kind of a shot in the dark, but i think that its about a wedding that was supposed to happen, but didnt, because the girl got cold feet. he refers to it as a 'stage' but that could just as easily mean the altar. everyone's going home, because the weddings off, and he says we'll be fine, because she has her friends to run back to, and he has his alcohol, the makers being makers mark bourbon whiskey. idk thats just what i think. care to comment?? |

dang son why are there so few comments on all their songs?? they're quite an awesome band. not one youd expect coming from hawaii. well i think this song is about his feelings towards this girl whom he loves but she keeps hurting him over and over again. but she keeps coming back to him and he tries to keep her out, because hes hurt, but he eventually takes her back cuz he loves her stupidly. this explains the 'walls stand, built to be broken' and all the other references to walls. and then in some other parts of the song hes expressing how he feels whenever she hurt him, and he built a wall up against her, he thinks hell be able to resist her and hes telling himself that he can, he doesnt need her, and that hes 'invincible' ok so maybe an easier way to explain this all was to say its about him building walls to seperate himself from this girl who keeps hurting him, and hes determined to keep her out, he feels invincible. there we go. *whew* |

haha interesting theory. as for everyone else, you're looking at it way too narrowly. i think its about this couple, who had a really good relationship, but then the girl broke up with him. and during the relationship they said they would remain friends. then, the rest of the song easily makes sense. "where have you been?? ive been waiting for so long to hear from you" she hasnt talked to him in a while even though they were supposed to be trying to be friends. "we've been to quiet for too long" "and all the things we said we would do remains to be plans of the past." and then he tries to keep up the whole trying to be friends thing. but she just doesnt want to even be civil. "your words are cold" "the comfort in your voice is gone" "is it worth this time, am i done in your mind??" and then in the end he just gives up on her, cuz shes just being a bitch so hes all like "dont keep in touch, im better off alone" "you've lost everything i loved" "why did i think that we would ever be good" "all right, im sorry i even tried, i was a fool to have hope in you" that is my favorite part right there. cuz i totally was a fool like that, to have hope. |

yeah, at first i thought it was about a girl who moved away and is living the life without him but after looking at all his other songs, it seems kenny has written quite a few songs about his mom. his mom passed away and i took a second look at this song and it totally fits. "not even the mighty sky can fill the space you left behind, not even when it rains." "nothing takes your place, emptiness to great to fill" "in reverie, i felt you holding me" and i especially think the "somewhere on coastlines unknown to me" part is concise proof that its about his mom cuz when someone dies, you don't exactly know where they go, hence the coastlines unknown to him. but its a really nice song and you could use it for the breakup meaning too if youd like. |

ok, here goes. so basically the songs about a girl (or girlfriend most likely) who's goin through some tough times, or at her all time low in life. So the first line, hes telling her to not trust everything you see, cuz your eyes can deceive you sometimes. Then she said hell is so close but heaven's so far away. So she's saying that its too far to the top, that she cant fight out of it. but he's saying to not give up, cuz what they've got is too good to give up on. And in the chorus he's telling her that he won't leave her just cuz shes going through troubles. so he tells her to hold him down, to keep him with her, and to not push him away. and eventually he will help her through these tough times (i wil carry you home). when he says rain is gonna fall, sun is gonna shine, he's reminding her that problems will come anyways, like the rain will inevitably come, but after you make it through, things will get way better (the sun is gonna shine). then hes saying when those troubles come (the wind blowing, the waters rising) to look him in the eyes cuz he will comfort her and everything. then hes saying that its ok to go through what youre going through, cuz your still young and you make mistakes (youre still young and out of line) and in the end hes saying i dont want to be alone, cuz he loves her so much he'd rathr stay with her and suffer with her than to be alone and away from her. well thats just what i think. love the song tho. |

I think....the dude really likes the girl. He wants to tell her, but he's really nervous and maybe even afraid of comittment because of things that have happened before (I'm so sorry, but everything i keep close to me runs away) so maybe past failed relationships make him scared of comittment. so he decides to just keep it to himself, not let anyone know about it (i'll hide amongst the trees) and then when she wants to tell him something, like confess her feelings for him too?? (And when the grouind all breaks) he's still so scared of getting into a serious relationship and getting hurt again he'll just run away from it (i'll just run away. im sorry i still havent changed) haha. idk if its right. but its kinda how i feel sometimes lol. |

yeah this songs definitely about two people who are far away from each other. the thinking about the clouds, implies hes looking at the sky. a lot of times when people miss each other they look up at the sky, wondering how the others doing. and the hoping you could stay part. i love this song, and the bass beat is freakin awesome! love the band!! |

so he cant get over this girl, who he used to be with and hes still not over her, thus the good intentions staying friends with each other, but it wont change the way he feels about her and hes trying to move on with his life, so hes hoping that he will but hes not sure, thats why he says it 'could' be the last day. but then i guess hes also hoping to not move on?? cuz he secretly still doesnt want to so in the last line he says 'yeah i'll hold my breath and wait for you' idk. this song is pretty self explanatory. |
