| The Replacements – Bastards Of Young Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"The ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest And visit their graves on holidays at best The ones who love us least are the ones we'll die to please If it's any consolation, I don't begin to understand them" Classic lines. One of the best songs ever by any artist. Against Me! did a great cover of this song. |
|
| The Replacements – Hold My Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is also one of my fave songs ever. | |
| The Replacements – Seen Your Video Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Damn right we all hate phony rock 'n' roll! | |
| The Replacements – Unsatisfied Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yeah bakismaki, I also really really love the intro to the song but then I read the lyrics and whoa! This perfectly describes the state I'm in right now, completely unsatisfied with everything. |
|
| The Replacements – Here Comes A Regular Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I really really love this song. So sad yet so true. I read in Tom Gabel's blog that Against Me! recorded a cover of this, can't wait till Sire releases that comp CD. | |
| Lucero – I Can Get Us Out of Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I wonder why no one has commented on this song. This is one of my all-time fave Lucero songs. | |
| Lucero – I'll Just Fall Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
kitteh, don't beat yourself up over it. I feel the same way, I hate how I feel invincible one day and vulnerable the next. Somehow, something comes up that makes me spiral into depression and I feel like there's nothing that anyone can say or do to make me feel better. "now i'm just a little bit tired, that's all and don't make me get up, 'cause i'll just fall" I guess those who are quick to give advices (not that they don't mean well) should listen to this song. |
|
| Lucero – Chain Link Fence Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's nice to hear a tale of heartbreak from a singer's perspective. When I go to concerts, I almost always wish the show wouldn't end so I can spend more time with the guys from the band. Especially the one I've set my sights on. Sounds pathetic I know. |

|
| Lucero – Chain Link Fence Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Is this somehow related to the song "Sixteen"? I love it! | |
| Lucero – Ain't So Lonely Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"it's been a while since i was nineteen been a while since i've seen myself act like such a fool how long must this go on tonight?" Love these lines. Every once in awhile, we meet someone we really like who makes us feel young again, and gets us at a loss as to how to act around her/him. |
|
| Lucero – Sweet Little Thing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Aww, poor guy. I love Ben Nichols from Lucero! | |
| Against Me! – What We Worked For Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Zucchino and Filbunke: Tom talked about recording a cover of "Here Comes A Regular" on his blog, can't wait to hear it. I really love this song especially the lines "are we working to live and die in american cities, living to work and die in american cities, and dying for what we worked" Fuck! This band makes me question everything they're driving me crazy!;p |
|
| Against Me! – Holy Shit! Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's "a power that is governed by the people". This is one of my fave tracks off SFAFC. | |
| Snow Patrol – Crack The Shutters Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
WOW. I can't stop listening to this song either and I agree with 60 miles, this is better than Chasing Cars. "Crack the shutters open wide, I wanna bathe you in the light of day And just watch you as the rays tangle up around your face and body I could sit for hours finding new ways to be awed each minute Cuz' the daylight seems to want you just as much as I want you" Now, how cool would it be to have someone feel that way about you? :) |
|
| Chuck Ragan – Do You Pray Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"I wanna dance like nobody's watching, and sing like nobody cares. Climb to the top of those mountains we see, to find peace, and die up there." Sounds like what I've been thinking about doing for quite some time now. |
|

| Against Me! – Wagon Wheel (Old Crow Medicine Show cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I just found out about this song recently when I saw a bootleg video of Tom performing it at Generation Records. This is simply amazing, I love the cover even more than the original. You're right alicelikesme, this song leaves me at peace too. | |
| Stereophonics – It Means Nothing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Did we lose ourselves again? Did we take in what’s been said? Did we take the time to be, all the things we said we’d be? So we bury hopes in sand And my future’s in my hands" This part perfectly describes the mess I'm in right now. I'm burying all hopes in the sand because it just seems so pointless right now. Brilliant song by a brilliant band! |
|
| Descendents – Hope Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| yep, I've seen those tattoos. Travis Barker's I Don't Wanna Grow Up was exactly what turned me on to the Descendents! I love this band. | |

| Propagandhi – A People's History Of The World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Yeah, you can vote however the fuck you want, but power still calls all the shots." This band writes the best lyrics ever. I love the "Less Talk, More Rock" album so much. |
|
| Propagandhi – Less Talk, More Rock Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Brilliant song! I love Propagandhi! | |
| Hot Water Music – Radio Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Hot Water Music FTW! I love Alkaline Trio but this version nails the emotions behind the song mainly because of the rough vitriolic vocals! | |
| Alkaline Trio – Radio Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| edferd, i feel the same way! I really love Chuck Ragan's voice nailing the emotions behind the song. Gives me goosebumps, I'm currently addicted to this song. | |

| Berhane, that line gives me chills too. I love the mars volta! | |
| Green Day – When I Come Around Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I really really miss the old Green Day. This has been my absolute fave GD song for a long long time. I got the American Idiot CD but I can't listen to it over and over again the same way that I can listen to their old stuff forever and not get sick of it. | |
| Remember Maine – Waiting Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| c n magz, the lines that you quoted are the ones i love best about this song. :) | |
| Remember Maine – Streetsigns And Sidewalks Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I never knew a song with such a short lyric could clock in at 6 minutes and 6 seconds!;p ..Bill really did an amazing job with Remember Maine. | |
| The Academy Is... – Sodium Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I really love this bonus track. Why this didn't make it to the album is beyond me. | |
| Against Me! – T.S.R. (This Shit Rules) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"It's only this fucked up i start realizing all this living is just dying and if these are my friends, if this is my home, if this is how i spend my nights, how i communicate, and demonstrate a love of life." -I agree with skacore, this is one of my fave lyrics of all-time too. Tom Gabel is a genius. |
|
| Against Me! – Joy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Since you guys have pretty much figured out the whole "song meaning" part, I would just like to say that this one of my fave AM! songs. This never gets old. | |
| Against Me! – Armageddon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"And me and my friends are just growing into the drunks and the liars that we've always hated Every shortcoming has trapped us Every mistake is now our own infinite failure So we steal every chance we get Every advantage is taken when no one's looking We hide behind closed doors And we don't stop until We are the people we've decided we should be" It's funny how we all have this perfect notion of who we want to become when we're young..but as we grow old, we become exactly what we hate. |
|
| Mae – Suspension Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| His voice really fits the melody. One of my faves off the Everglow CD. | |
| Mae – We're So Far Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song could be about his relationship with God. "We'd learn so much about ourselves From Toledo to Tokyo The words were scribed on every page And now there's books up on our shelves" Sounds like a reference to the Bible to me, but I could be wrong. Mae has got to be one of the few mellow acts that I listen to, but I love them nonetheless. The Everglow is such a good album! |
|
| Lucero – Sixteen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The guitars on the first verse reminds me of Red & Blue Jeans by the Promise Ring. Anyone noticed that? | |
