Just throwing this out there. I think that this song is about the wide separation of social classes The oaks (wealthy) grab up all the light and really overshadow the oppressed, which the oaks don't really feel they do. Being oppressed the only thing the maples (lower class) do is form a union to try and raise their standing and make themselves more equal. The end lines though are a little questionable for me as the noble law helps the lower class after they ban together against the higher class. And if all fails violence will result by hatchet, axe, and saw This song has many meanings to different people and yeah this is my thought |

MY meaning of this song is that theres a weak person who always complains and looks for easy ways out and needs help to control their life and always has to come to u complaining gives there excuse why things are hard and the response u give that person is deal with it! i think u need to get knocked down or something like "a shotgun blast/kick in the ass" and that theres nothing wrong with u "take ur medicine". then the chorus follows up as if saying ive been through harder times you have no clue what pain really is "i created the sound of madness wrote the book on pain and im still here to explain......and so on. just spare me ur guilt trip do it urself "when u gonna wake up and fight for urself" but thats just me and i like to think of it. btw probly is in the top 3 for shinedown songs for me |
