| Panic! at the Disco – Mad As Rabbits Lyrics | 17 years ago |

See, the thing I love about Pretty.Odd is that most of the lyrics are left for your own interpretation. There are sooo many people who say "Well, this doesn't make sense, so it's crap," or "They're clearly all on drugs," but I disagree completely (well, they could be on drugs, but I don't feel like that's what the album is about :p) I'm sure all the lines have very specific meanings to Ryan, but he writes in a way that most of the time, it doesnt have to just mean what he says it does. You can take it as what it means to you, which makes all their songs so much more relatable. The people who were talking about the Salesman book- I've never read or even heard of the book (until I read your comments) but from what you guys say, it does seem to fit pretty closely. WHich is kinda cool. Maybe I'll read the book. :) My favorite line, by far, is "we must reinvent love" it's simple, but makes you think, you know? |

I love this song so much. I can understand why people may not like Ryan's vocals, but I absolutely LOVE his voice. As far as the lyrics go, do they remind anyone else of And Your Bird Can Sing by The Beatles? I mean, I know The Beatles were a big inspiration for Ryan when he was writing for this album, so it makes sense, but the whole thing kinda makes me think of it. "You said you've seen seven wonders, and your bird can sing, but you can't see me" "She held the world upon a string, but she didn't ever hold me" Anyone agree? |

| Nightmare Of You – In The Bathroom Is Where I Want You Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Well, basically, it's a guy who's horny, and so he meets someone and they have sex in the bathroom. And it's not something he does very often. but he's a little desperate, so there ya go. Though the way Tronfo discussed it, it definitely could be that he's gay. For Kajjak's counterpoint on: "Voluptuous and finely cut What will it take to get you up And dance with me in wistful heat" I still think it works for being gay. Because a lot of times people will refer to sex as a dance. It's kind of just a more...poetic way to say it. ;p And I mean, the whole get you up thing? Definitely sounds like he's talking bout a guy. Now to address how many of you think that this song is also partially about how he wants real love, and a lot of people were talking about the "gentleman in training" line... "But now wait, wait I'm a gentleman in training Wait, wait I'm a professional in feigning love" I don't think he actually wants to find true love at this point, he really just wants the sex, but he doesnt' want a reputation for being that kind of guy, so at the same time, he wants to make it seem like he truly cares about the person. |

| Nightmare Of You – My Name Is Trouble Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Basically, I think he does love her (or him), but he feels that he needs to end it, because he either doesn't love her in THAT way, or because he doesn't love her as much as she loves him. | |
| The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Okay, clearly, I don't actually know the true answer to the meaning of this song, but I am getting a little annoyed with the way people so blindly trust every word john Lennon said. I mean, face it. He did do drugs. Not necessarily LSD, but I wouldn't count it out completely, especially not with this song. And I mean, if people are accusing him of doing drugs, then he's going to deny it, whether it's the truth or not. Why would he just come right out and say. "Yes, it is about LSD!"? I mean, does that really sound like a sensible move? Not to me. So, just because he said it was about his kid's drawing, doesn't necessarily mean it was. And just because it spells out LSD, doesn't mean it was on purpose. |

| The Academy Is... – Checkmarks Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Basically, I think it's about two people who slept together a few times, left with bitter feelings. THat's, uh, pretty much it. :D | |

| I think chowderhead said it perfectly. :) | |
| Relient K – The Lining Is Silver Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I don't believe in God, so unless a song comes right out and says it, I won't connect them, even with Relient K being a religious band and all. To me, this song basically just means that there's always something good in life. Yes, it's going to be hard, and yes, nothing will ever be perfect, but eventually you need to learn to look past the imperfections and just see the potential for good in the world. |

I see where most of you are coming from with it being about a Break-Up. It definitely could be about that. But I don't think it necessarily is. It really works for any challenge in life. I mean, the basic gist of it is, something struck him hard, he feels weak, but he's trying to improve and be stronger. Although, it does work especially well for a break up situation (or maybe not even a breakup. Could just be he got rejected) I think it is, because of lines like "I'm still yours even if you're not mine", where it pretty much says it clearly. She doesn't love him anymore, but he still would do anything for her. |
