My mother cannot stand the carpenters but I like to think I was Karen Carpenter in my last life (I'm a Wiccan, don't ask). Karen was often a very lonely person who just wanted to be loved but often felt like she didn't deserve it and I relate to this song very much. |

CuteSparkina, I like your interpretation better (I can relate to it so much better!), but the sad truth is, it's just not true. Yes, Romeo Void actually said in one of their earlier videos that this song is indeed about incest, and not just about that, but also about homelessness and murder. The music video clears up a lot of the confusion.
Personally though, I think Deborah Iyall is the best singer ever! Big girls can rock too and all ya'll who say she's too fat can go eat a burger! |

This song isn't too hard to understand. It's about disappointment, as everyone else said, over a guy. She realizes that the guy she wants won't be able to validate her in the way she wants so she has to fold (basically an auctioning term for forfeit) because she's too emotionally hurt for the guy to want to deal with her. |
