I think the song is about being intoxicated (by alcohol or any other drug) and finding yourself during a moment of grace. In this case they speak of the desert and it feels like your at the edge of the earth. Your stress an inner pain is released, and the secret is understanding yourself and life in itself better at that moment.
I think one of the reasons I interpreted this song like so is because I have many times felt that I was in a similar situation. |

First of all this song is soo epic, and i absolutely love hearing Micah from oh, sleeper in a haste the day song. Cwj2039 and sirswagger seem to be right on target with understanding the meaning. But I was curious as to what the reference to "making it back in time" in the song had to do with. I have also yet to understand where/what the place is that "most deny". Perhaps this is a biblical reference, any thoughts anyone? |

This song is pretty cool, although this song is very different to avenged's usual song lyrics I believe it has meaning that relates to a lot of people.
To me this song means a lot. I am a Freshman in college, and I havent seen many of my best friends from home. I know I have changed, and I know many of my friends have changed and will change but in the end we still share the same story and despite our new found differences we still have common memories and we will always have a relationship even if I never see a friend ever again. In a song by nas he says "a thug changes and love changes and best friends become strangers". this song says yeah people change but there is still something between friends "until the end"... |

This song is about the Harlot (the evil girl), and if your a guitar player you may have noticed that the first 2 out of 3 notes are the same as in Beast and the Harlot.
Pretty cool huh?
