| Bob Dylan – Maggie's Farm Lyrics

As some others have said, it is true that this was Dylan's first electric song. To me, working on Maggie's farm seems like a metaphor for being in prison and wanting to escape |

I heard this song first on the radio and thought it was catchy and then I watched the music video and I don't know what to think. It was kinda scary and haunting and it really made me mesmerized with this song. It really was sad to see her hang herself and get all bloody in her performance at the music awards. It's like, sad and haunting but it really makes you like the song. |

i like this song just because of the fact that it's the only semi-upbeat breakup song i know of. it's like he realizes that he's worth more than this messed up relationship where he's giving more than he gets. sometimes you just gotta do what's right for you and move on to a better place |

This song is so beautiful; the lyrics, simple accompaniment, and raw vocals make it convey the message of "i'm not perfect and i know you won't fix everything, but being together is the best thing we can be" |

this song is utter perfection. It fits in so beautifully in the movie and helps connect the story of Romeo and Juliet to this day and age. It's funny though, that the lyrics refer to an established relationship, but Romeo and Juliet only knew each other for a day. |

I think that this song is probably about a lover but you could also interpret as a parent singing to an infant: "rest your tiny head on your pillow" and "You're all that I've ever wanted... and yes you did come" |

I think he's singing about a troubled girl he knows. She considers them friends, but he really wants it to be more. I love it though, cause he's definitely not pushy about it all; he's willing to wait for her. It's like, "I'll be here for you when you're ready" (My door's always open/ you can come anytime you want) |

I always thought that the singer of the song was the one who the Bride cheated on the groom with. and he gets angry that the bridesmaid and the waiter now know the secret because he says "havent you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door", like they walked in on him and the bride |

This song gives me goosebumps. I know for sure it will still be big even 20 years from now. I think that the line Once you'd gone there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world" is like they lost someone close to them and they felt so lost |

i don't know exactly what the whole song means, but the line "i've watched you slowly winding down for years, you can't go on like this" makes me think of an older person who would have still been able to keep living, but they started to give up, and let themself deteriorate |

| The Beatles – While My Guitar Gently Weeps Lyrics

this song is about a guy who loved a girl but she turned him down (I don’t know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love). afterwards, he's so depressed, all he can write are sad songs (my guitar gently weeps). the rest of the song is about him observing that life is going on around him (I look at the world and I notice it’s turning), as he is stuck in his sadness and can't move on. what about the part of the song:
"I look from the wings, see the play you are staging,
While my guitar gently weeps
As I'm sitting here, doing nothing but aging
Still my guitar gently weeps"?
I have the Beatles Anthology and on While My Guitar Gently Weeps this verse is sung after "No one alerted you". Maybe they didn't keep it in the final cut. I don't know why though, because it's really good |

This song is just plain beautiful. I fall asleep to it every night. I think it's almost more fun not to analyze the meaning of its words, but just to listen and let the music move through you. Whoever loves this song like I do should really check out No Comment's version of it. They are an a cappella group from University of Illinois, and they sound amazing! you can hear it online at: http://www.uofinocomment.com/index.shtml |

i love this song because it's positive and i can relate to the feeling of being happy sometimes even in the midst of shit thats happening in life. and everyone who's fighting over the band joy division, think about it; the wombats could have used any other band's name and it wouldn't have made much of a difference |

this song was at its peak when i was about 6 and i can remember sitting on the kitchen floor making a tablecloth with my older cousins. when this song came on they were so excited and i had never heard it before then. i'll never forget that. of course i had no idea what the lyrics meant at the time. but regardless of what the song is about or if you like it or not, you have to admit that it was definately a major piece of the 90's |

aaahhhhh! one of my favorite songs ever! nothing to explain - it pretty much says it all itself - this guy never thought he'd fall for anyone, until someone came along.... if you think about it, he could almost be saying 'you are my heroin' like she's a drug for him. such a frickin good song |

| Guster – (Nothing But) Flowers (Talking Heads cover) Lyrics

So.. was this song originally by Talking Heads? Or Guster? I've been confused about that...
anyway I love this one and I think they're trying to make fun of how pathetic some people have become in this day and age - so dependent on material luxuries and being so wasteful. Maybe Guster was trying to inspire a more back-to-basics approach to life |
