I agree with Knockout000, and ChemicalCaitlin (By the way, your name is almost spelt the same way as mine. :D) Also, I can kind of see the references to American Idiot, with all the religious names and whatnot, but I don't think Billie Joe wants it to be highly religious, he just incorporates the names in, and it sounds great. |

Knockout000, Foxboro Hot Tubs is influenced off of other bands, chill out. They used alot of lines from other songs, and they used some of the same sounds as well. This song to me, does sound like something off of Nimrod, or maybe Warning. Also, I think it's about alchoholism... obviously, hah. |

You guys ruined the song for me... Why would Billie Joe sing about a girl on her period? Maybe Tre... Can anyone say All By Myself? ;) But Billie? Nah.. I think it's about a girl with BiPolar, or something along those lines. Or maybe Mary is a prostitute because her life is bad (Think of the song Mother Mary), and someone fell in love with her, but she has to leave them behind... because she can't stick to commitment. Depeche Mode's, and Lacuna Coil's versions are so hardcore. They bring the true essence of this song. In my own opinion, this song is about a husband and a wife fighting, I don't know why, but that's what it reminds me about. "Words like violence Break the silence Come crashing in Into my little world Painful to me Pierce right through me Can't you understand Oh my little girl All I ever wanted All I ever needed Is here in my arms" That sounds like the wife is yelling at her husband, and accusing her of cheating, or something. |

Honestly, I think it's to lovers whose parents won't let them be together, so they run away, to be together. "Keep driving till there's no where left to run Can't help but think there's something there for us Keep driving away" Doesn't it make sense? They need to keep running until they know their parents won't ruin their lives. And they truly believe they are in love. It's a sweet song. :) I was really sad when they played it on Tila Tequila.
