Kark is right, this song is about two people that want to get away from the drama and hassles they face in life and just be with one another and be happy, find that connection and take "the slow roads" and enjoy each others company. Amazing song.

Honestly, I think it's to lovers whose parents won't let them be together, so they run away, to be together. They need to keep running until they know their parents won't ruin their lives. And they truly believe they are in love.
