| Elliott Smith – Because (The Beatles cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i loved the multitracking in this song. no one can harmonize with Elliott quite like himself. this cover was definitely better than the one in Across the Universe | |
| Elliott Smith – Angel in the Snow Lyrics | 17 years ago |

you can't really place most of his songs about just one thing because they can be interpreted in so many ways. it could be about about a guy that wants to be more than "just friends" - don't you know that I love you but the girl is cold and won't reciprocate his feelings - sometimes i feel like only a cold still life that fell down here to lay beside you. or on a completely different note it could be about a stalker in regards to the lines "don't you know that i love you" and "better stop before it goes too far" |

| Elliott Smith – Bottle Up and Explode Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i think that it is about a couple fighting and breaking up ("bottle up and explode") and getting back together again and again. though the whole "you look at him like you've never known him, but i know for a fact that you have" part implies that the girl has either cheated or is referring to an old boyfriend. | |
| Shadow Gallery – Rain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| dude, this song is a perfect ending for the Room V album. one of my favorites from the album. i'm not going to say what I think that it is about, because the lyrics are pretty self explanatory. If you can find some hidden meaning in them by all means post them, but the album tells a story it shouldn't be all that hard to figure out. but yeah, this song kicks ass. | |
| Pink Floyd – Welcome to the Machine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is definitely about the record companies wanting to control musicians. like when it says: "what did you dream, its alright we told you what to dream" | |
| Elliott Smith – Kiwi Maddog 20/20 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i love this song. it makes me wonder if he found a brilliant riff, but couldn't find any lyrics for it. | |
| Elliott Smith – Junk Bond Trader Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| while it may have some reference to drugs, i think that it is about his frustration with the record industry. the record company wanted to mold him into what they wanted to sell. it is almost the same kind of frustration like in pink floyd's have a cigar and welcome to the machine. | |
| Elliott Smith – A Fond Farewell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is a great example of his imagery and complex lyrics. the lyrics, though mostly about drug use, when taken out of context could mean a lot of different things. that is what i love about his songs, you can interpret them in almost any way. | |
| Elliott Smith – Go By (Live) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| wow. the new moon version at least is about a relationship, possibly a marriage (thus the dressed all in white bit) that is drifting apart. | |
| Elliott Smith – Going Nowhere Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
this song helped me get over a girl. especially the lines: "It's dead and gone, matter of fact Maybe for the best" the lines You said some things you can't take back Honestly I guess always had a double meaning to me. they could mean like a person said some things that they couldn't take back, or that the person was saying that some things you can't take back, like time or love |
|
| Great Lake Swimmers – Your Rocky Spine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| it isn't about exploring a new lover, it is about the many different aspects and/or forms of a lover by comparing them to nature. But you may have found a different meaning. | |
