| The Killers – Mr. Brightside Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I know exactly how the guy feels, trust me. What's happened is he's friends with a woman, and they shared a kiss. They both thought it was awkward and forgot about it. Except for that he didn't, and now that she's with another guy, he realises how much he loves her. It's exactly as he describes in this song - just when you go to sleep you imagine what those two are doing at the same time, and it's sickening. | |
| Insomnium – In The Groves Of Death Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
That verse to me, is basically saying that you should cherish every day of your life, instead of striving to end your life prematurely. the first three verses describe him attempting suicide, and his basic feelings about his life ("O father, hear these words, your son is not made for this world Faint-hearted and careworn, into this vile life I was hurled") the next verse describes that it would be better to eb dead than be alive and go through the pain of existence ("Better it would be to stay in the shades In the thicket of the dead, in the groves of death Here I would lie to the end of the days") The next two verses are about the creator/metaphorically himself telling him that life may be full of pain, but after life there is nothing, (hence the second verse with: "No moon will beam, no sun will shine") and life is better than nothing and should be cherished. Lastly, the very last verse is about him not worrying and striving to rise above the pain and monotony of existence and taking "life as it comes". Thats my theory anyway :) |

| Insomnium – The Killjoy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Basically a depressing song, saying that you should aspire to nothing and not put trust in anyone as you will die in the end anyway. | |
| Insomnium – In The Groves Of Death Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Metaphorically describing attempting suicide, then having an epiphany after. | |
| Abigail Williams – Floods Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Haha, I forgot that bands of a genre all write about the same thing. I'll keep that in mind. | |

| Heroin? | |

| Amon Amarth – The Hero Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The song is about how people judge someone by the one good deed that they did and died for. This is an evil man, who probably raped and killed many innocents, as was expected in mercenaries of that time, who was then hired by a man to defend a town of "old and weak" people. He obviously died doing this, and shuns the use of the word "hero" to describe, because, even though he died protecting innocents, he is still an "evil man" who did terrible things. | |
| In Flames – Dialogue with the Stars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I agree! And since dialogue with the stars could take an astronomical amount of time, and is a very deep and profound thing to do, so the time it takes to communicate with the stars could in fact be the same amount of time as needed for the "fast forward" you spoke of. And yes, the riffage is indeed sexy. |

| Lamb of God – Purified Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Its blatantly about a UN "peacekeeper" raping an AIDs or HIV infected African woman, and getting the virus. The "enemy" is the virus, and the prsonifcation of the virus is the singer of the song, saying that it was put here for a purpose. eventually, the man has to ive up to what he's done and admit he raped the woman, causing the "clock of lies" to drpo. I am extremely drunk/ |

| Lamb of God – In Defense Of Our Good Name Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I can relate to this song, being half German and being born in Germany, now living in England, I always have 'misconceptions' about me fuckin brutal song though, one of my favourite lamb of god tracks of all time |

| Darkthrone – Transylvanian Hunger Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The riff might get boring for some, but if you listen to this at around 2AM, the music is so hypnotic and unbelievable. | |
| Wintersun – Beautiful Death Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love this song. The best part is where it breaks down to only the synth and he whispers "Nothing could have prepared me for this" | |
| Wintersun – Starchild Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The guitars on this song are exactly like Iron-era Ensiferum, but the synth is completely new and spacey. Fuckin awesome. | |
