| Eisbrecher – 1000 Flammen Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
To me, it really sounds like a fascist anthem(?). I'm definitely not saying Eisbrecher are Nazis, I'm just saying, what with the immolation and anti-religion in the context it's used, it brings up imagery of the Holocaust and the rumoured "Nazi occult". Again, I am not in any way accusing Eisbrecher of being some type of fascist group. You can sing about something objectively without being a part of it. |

| Rammstein – Wiener Blut (English) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
A few problems with the first part of translation here. It should be a bit more like: Come with me, come into my house (manor, castle) There is fun in the basement Quiet, quiet, we need to be (for)Just a second A moment in time Yes, Paradise lies under the house The door slams (tumbles, fall) in The light goes out Are you ready? Are you set? Welcome.... To the gloom (darkness, blackness, murk, lots of words that this could be translated as) To the gloom Most of the rest of it's right, so good job! :D |

| Rob Zombie – Meet The Creeper Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| TheMadBag, thank you. I totally agree. | |
| Eisbrecher – Kein Mitleid Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think this song could be seen in two ways: The standard "Where is your God" Nieztsche-style antithiest song(bleh). That's what's apparent. But I think, especially in the last line (God has no time or sympathy), that it's about someone who's been decadent their whole lives, and then when it matters most, they want to "turn over a new leaf", with no type of repentance, remorse, etc. |

| Meshuggah – New Millennium Cyanide Christ Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Meshuggah is one of those few bands whose lyrics can be spoken, and sound like poetry. Also, I don't see this as a religious(or anti-religious) song at all. I mean, they only use the word "Christ" to refer to a type of savior. I think it mocks the world's corruption in many points, though not religious. Like "I tear my worldly useless skin / Staples to pin it over my ears / Non-receptive of ungodly sounds - I disable the audio generators of fear" It's more existential than anything. Oh, and the "phrase about satan" in the video was just a translation of the title of another song, done (WITH DUCT TAPE) out of pure boredom. And they were drunk. |

| Powerman 5000 – Even Superman Shot Himself Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Wow. That little comment war was really fuckin' hilarious. Too bad it's over now, though... We should probably start another one. LOLOLOLOLOL I LUUUUV AVRL LAVEEN!!!!111oneeleven Honestly though, Slipknot IS pretty tasteless. I mean, they lost me at "THE WHOLE WORLD'S MY ENEMY". I actually enjoy this song. WAIT WASN'T THIS SITE ABOUT SONG MEANINGS HOLY CRAP. |

| Sonata Arctica – Victoria's Secret Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
You guys have got it pretty much covered, except for one bit I noticed: First, I'm running with the suicide explanation. The Light escapes her room tonight, every little moment tells her, now it´s time Opening a new scar, closing the wounds with a knife, no more crying in the lanterns light? So, she's just looking back on how horrible her life has been (most likely superficial reasons) and is going to end it. Leave with the first light, go when you still see the moon Run for the sunlight, gate is now open for you There, she's done it, and she thinks she's finally free from the darkness of her life, and she's running towards Heaven, paradise. Dancing on the path and singing, now you got away You can reach the goals that you have set from now on, every day There is no way you would go back now, oh no, those days are past Life is waiting for the one who loves to live, and it is not a secret? She's happy that she got away from everything, but now she feels that she can do anything she ever wanted, but no longer has the chance. She realizes "the secret" to life, but she's already given hers up. The Shades of darkness filled her life, In every single corner you can not turn right. Night could pass for a day, in her lack of faith, she let it all fade away. Once more, a cry in the lanterns light? She now realizes that she's been blinding herself all of her life, instead of enjoying the good things, and she really killed herself for nothing. So, basically, instead of heaven, she created her own personal hell. Anyone else see it this way? |

| HIM – Passion's Killing Floor Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
There's something in the middle-to-end part of the song... All I can make out is "mark of the beast" o_O Anyone else able to make out anything? I like two songs of HIM's: This one, and Kiss of Dawn. Not really that many others... |
|
| Godsmack – Livin' in Sin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sully IS a Wiccan, and (very admirably) doesn't regard God and other Christian beliefs as the worst thing in the world. In Bad Religion, he's talking about church corruption, not hating beliefs... I mean, come on. They aren't black metal. I like this song, and I'm a Christian, if anyone cares. | |
| He Is Legend – Eating A Book Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Wait... how is this done in classic rock style? I mean, you got the rest of it pretty awesome, but... Yeah. He Is Legend is a "'music' band, or a 'band' band"(as they said themselves), not an explicitly Christian band, all though they're Christian. Even though those are probably the right meanings, I still like to think of it as reading to get something out of your head(kill it), or reading the Bible to get rid of Satan(either way actually :D) |
|
| He Is Legend – The Creature Walks Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Every time I listen to this song, I always think of the end of a good book. That sort of applies to a lot of HIL songs for me, though, so it's probably just me =P Still, I think the real meaning's about a relationship ending(Message to the queen(it's over), Wake yourself up you've been dreaming again), and the first bit(Can you find my angel etc.) is about she being his "angel", and when something happens that she either does or he does kills their love, ... erm... yeah. I'm tired xD | |
| He Is Legend – You Sound Like A White Boy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Holy shit. I sound like a white boy. | |
| KoЯn – Lies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yep, it's about the dangers of lies. The whole "twelve year olds shouldn't use the internet" thing is immature troll shit. Ignore it if you don't want him to come back. I usually like most of the songs I hear from KoRn, and I have for a few years, so who cares what your age is? | |
| Ben Folds – Zak And Sara Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I disagree with everybody that say it's extacy. I think it's more like, he singing her favorite song are LIKE extacy... I don't know. This is kind of a universal song, it means what anyone thinks it does =P By the way, my name's Zach, and my girlfriend's name is Sarah, so I kinda loved the song when I first heard it xP | |
| Rammstein – Dalai Lama (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| ...Poor trex, never got to finish... I'll just add, like, 20, because of the other comments. 70. Amazing song, by the way =] | |
| Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
HOLY CRAP SATANIC COOKIES! Need holy water... lol, jk. Still, it's funny how many people they probably got thinking "Oh my goodness, Tool is a satanic nazi band!" when they /saw the fucking title/. |
|
| Atreyu – Blow (feat. Josh Todd) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
...One, I love Atreyu. Whatever their sound or genre is, they're still Atreyu. Two, this page isn't for bashing Atreyu(or Avenged, for that matter), it's for comments on THE SONG ITSELF and the meanings. Three, I've realized that most of the comments here (both from fans and anti-fans) contain the words shit or fuck more than once. Whoo, humanity. Now, on to the song. Awesome song, I agree with anyone/everyone that's said it's about fans that don't like them changing, when(if they stayed the same) those same fans would complain about IT too. |
|
| Nightwish – Nymphomaniac Fantasia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| lol, Girl power? xD The song's not meant to be sexist. It's really one of my least favorite, and I still kinda like it. This is why intelligent men never cheat. It also shows that we (intelligent men) are a dying species D: | |
| Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Music is supposed to be universal. People can listen to whatever they want and still get something out of it." --Eminem One of the few things he's said that I agree with. I'm a Christian, if anyone cares. I'm not a Catholic/Protestant/Mormon/Insert-Organized-Religious-name-here, I'm a Christian. A follower of Christ. I don't go to Church, but I know the bible and I'm close to God. Funny, huh? I'm tired of seeing all the flaming between people. We all have opinions or beliefs, and if we feel the need to state them, that's fine. But when people shove their beliefs down other's throats, and when others flame and mock certain religions, it gets really fucking old. |
|
| Taylor Swift – Our Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I freakin' love this song, and I'm a guy. What's more, I'm usually considered the "goth/punk/rocker" kind of person, but it's an awesome song. It reminds me of this time we snuck out after both of our parents were asleep, and I got back at 2 AM, and my mom freaked :D | |
| Apocalyptica – Betrayal/Forgiveness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sounds to me like someone who's lived a bad life, lived in pride, fear, lust, etc(pretty much sin), and wants to be out of it. | |
| Apocalyptica – I'm NOT Jesus Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's "I'm Not Jesus, Jesus wasn't fair", fair instead of there. | |
| Alkaline Trio – Armageddon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
1. It's not about them selling out, you idiot. 2. I don't think it's about the end of the world. 3. It's about a breakup. Now, breakups are horrible and make you feel like someone's twisting a knife in your chest. Emoness aside, it's a fuckin' awesome song, and it kinda makes me think about my current relationship and girlfriend and *ACTUAL BRIGHTNESS IN NEXT BIT OH NOES!* makes me feel grateful for all I have. |
|
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Hail Satan! Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| What's up with the whole "Hail Satan" thing? | |
| Rammstein – Hallelujah (English) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Since some of the other comments have confused the hell out of me, and I'm an actual Christian, I gotta go with the majority on this one. It's totally about priests molesting boys. It's kinda obvious. If Rammstein has more Christian fans (am I the only one? ;-;), they probably jumped on this one, like a lot of Apocalyptica's fans did on "I'm Not Jesus". Just another song about hypocrisy in the Catholic church, but still pretty awesome. | |
| Fairyland – On The Path To Fury Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Gotta say, when I first heard the song, I was going to sleep listening to my iPod. And when this song came on, the intro part really freaked me out, but I love it now xD | |
| Seether – No Jesus Christ Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yes, there is a Jesus Christ, and a lot of people (mostly Christians) probably freaked out when they saw the title on the new album. Me too, actually, but now I like the song a lot. It's about an ex, like you guys have already said... | |
| He Is Legend – You Sound Like A White Boy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I doubt the whole crucifixion thing's correct, He Is Legend's members are Christian (most of them are, I think, but they've stated they're more of a "music" band instead of a so-called "Christian band"), so I doubt they'd make any sacrilegious references. | |
| Nine Inch Nails – God Given Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| ...Way too much flaming of Christians going on here. I don't really think that's what the songs totally about. This is about people who think that they're better and have a "holier-than-thou" attitude, that either stuff it down your throat or tell you you're gonna burn in hell. Let me say, I'm actually a Christian, so I guess you could say I'm partially biased, so whatever. | |
| Lordi – Would You Love a Monsterman? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Goin' out on a limb here... "You can't deny/You crucify" Since we know this song's already about the people that think they're better than someone else, couldn't this be a Jesus reference? Not just the crucify bit, just.. When he was crucified, he'd already been beaten, spit on, and ridiculed, only followed by a handful of disciples. Maybe not, but it kinda fits in with some other parts too... "Leaving for now/Someday I may return" |
|
| Nightwish – Master Passion Greed Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Meh, black metal isn't Nightwish. This isn't black metal. Anyone that doesn't know, black metal is sort of interchangeable with death metal. Not my thing, bad stuff to me. The song's ok, not the typical NW, a bit too agressive. | |
| Nightwish – FantasMic Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Hmm... Totally a Disney song, but I'm still stuck with the Phoenix bit.. I think the Harbringer's gate might be like, a prelude to Chernabog's release? I'm not sure xD I think I see a Lion King reference, the cub bit, but I don't know. In the title, FantasMic, The "M" is capitalized because, well, that's how the Disney show is spelled :D | |
| Nightwish – Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean (feat. Tapio Wilska) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| It seems almost like the birth of the antichrist, and the mother mourning over her fate after she realizes who she has given birth to him. The screech owl is commonly used to represent Lilith, a demon supposedly around since Adam and Eve. After that, the washing of the "bloodred sea" seems to be the coming of Christ, and eternity. | |
