| Imagine Dragons – Radioactive Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this song is from the perspective of a nuclear warhead being recommissioned and detonated. "I'm waking up to ash and dust, I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust, I'm breathing in, the chemicals" The warhead is being pulled out of its dusty stockpile, getting cleaned off and having its rust removed. "Breathing in the chemicals" may be referring to adding fuel to the bomb. "I'm breaking in, shaping up, checking out on the prison bus." The warhead is being checked, re-armed, and transported. "I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones, Enough to make my systems blow" The warhead can feel its impending detonation. "Welcome to the new age, to the new age. Whoa, whoa, I'm radioactive, radioactive." The new age is referring to a post-nuclear era, and of course the nuclear fallout from the warhead is radioactive. "I raise my flags, don my clothes, It's a revolution I suppose. We'll paint it red, to fit right in, whoa." This is implies that a socialist/communist nation is preparing this warhead. "All systems go, sun hasn't died. Deep in my bones, straight from inside." The warhead is being fired, and the 'sun' which refers to the nuclear core is still intact after all these years and is ready to explode. |

Small correction: It's too loud** to hear a sound I think this is the best song on Out of Ashes. Lyrically and musically, it's very powerful. Aside from the implications about Chester's personal life, I think this song is about losing yourself in commitment, and realizing that when it's all over and there's nothing more you can do, you have no choice but to keep going forward. |

This song is great on so many different levels. Musically, lyrically, interpretively, it's just an amazing song. I wasn't a huge 3EB fan but Ursa Major, and specifically this song, has definitely got me listening to them a lot more. @jamskool: Completely agree with your interpretation. @sloppylove: That's my favorite line! |

| By the way you clearly took some of my lyrics from LPLive even though I asked not to post them anywhere, but whatever, fix them and I don't really care. | |

These should be almost entirely correct: Dead By Sunrise - Crawl Back In Sometimes I look at my own face and I don't kn:ow who I am I see a piece of everyone I know buried underneath my skin I don't wanna be like them I wanna crawl back in It's hard to think of anything that I haven't heard before I hear these voices in my head, they could be mine but I'm not sure I hear their telling me who they think I should be, why won't they leave me alone I can't deny it, I tried to fight it, but I'm losing control I don't wanna be like them I wanna crawl back in Don't wanna lose my innocence Don't want the world second-guessing my heart Won't let your lies take a piece of my soul Don't wanna take your medicine I wanna crawl back in Sometimes I lie, sometimes I crawl Sometimes I feel like I wanna die I don't wanna be like them I wanna crawl back in Don't wanna lose my innocence Don't want the world second-guessing my heart Won't let your lies take a piece of my soul Don't wanna take your medicine I wanna crawl back in I wanna crawl back in Hey! |

| OneRepublic – Prodigal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree that the song might have been inspired by all of that, but I don't think the reference should be taken so literally. The song would just say that if that's all they wanted it to mean, but I think the song is for anyone who ever selfishly ran away from someone in shame thinking that there's no going back, but in reality, that other person is still waiting, whether you want them to or not. That person can be god, or a friend, a family member, a lover, but it's the idea that you can relate to. | |

This song is incredibly catchy. The chorus is just so upbeat and lively. The bridge is definitely the most masterful part though. AJ's powerful voice along with the amazing synchronous backup singing by the other three just sounds perfect. |

Great song, especially the piano. Great choice for a single. hplssrmantcxox: I wish some girls would give a poor guy an actual chance to sing this to them! |

| Backstreet Boys – Unmistakable Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree that it's about insecurity and confusion but I don't think the song is necessarily about being afraid of commitment. This person has been waiting for so long for the perfect person and they're hoping that they'll truly know when that person comes around. It's just that they aren't sure of who the perfect person really is yet. | |
| Backstreet Boys – One In A Million Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree. I think the girl is overwhelmed with life and underappreciated, but she's so busy and occupied with everything else and she's probably settling for another guy, so she doesn't realize just how amazing she is. | |
| Backstreet Boys – Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is about a guy who's in love with a girl that keeps disappointing him. He has these great moments with her, and it's magical just like the fireworks, but then when that unsuspecting Sunday afternoon arrives, his heart gets shattered again. He's not sure what's gonna happen next, so he doesn't know if this is the end or only the beginning. | |
