| Against Me! – 8 Full Hours of Sleep Lyrics

Guys... Eight Full Hours of Sleep? Come on, it's a POLITICAL song! Pretty Socialist and Anarchist actually. The late 1800's saw vast social uprisings of the working class against the bourgeoisie. The workers demanded various things such as health benefits, workers compensation etc. But one of the major victories for the people was the 8 Hour Work Day. This meant people now had 8 hours a day for work, 8 for personal time and 8 FULL HOURS OF SLEEP. So this song is a political commentary about reflecting back on the dreams of those who fought for the 8 hour day and the hope for a better tomorrow. A socialist future. |

Have them shot? Does that make you any better than them? They have the right to life whether you disagree with their beliefs or not. You don't really understand Anarchism do you? It's 100% about freedom. Freedom in it's most perfect form. |

hhpunk is right. They aren't Anti-American. To think so is ignorant and short-sighted. They are questioning the Capitalist policies of both the left AND right of the American Political Spectrum which is extremely right to begin with.
Joseph McCarthy as you may know, was a famous senator, I believe, in the late 40's and throughout the 50's. He was a stark anti-communist and jailed many believed to be "Soviet Sympathizers" just because of their radical left views.
And I must assume you know who Reagan is. His right wing policies only furthered American imperialism and corporate domination. His administration indirectly killed tens of thousands in what is today known as the Iran-Contra affair. His affect on American politics is still being felt today, especially in their foreign policy and economic sectors.
But in the end, what this song comes down to is, as I said, the right-wingization of the supposedly "Liberal" Democratic party. |

| Leftover Crack – Muppet Namblin' Lyrics

this song makes me so depressed.
I think of it and cry.
where are all the rainbows, really?
I mean when you REALLY think about it,
they've all faded away into the ironically blue skies.
LEFTOVER CRACK
-sniffle-
I LOVE YOU
I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE DRUG ISSUES.
which you may or may not have.
this song completely changed my life.
I used to love the rainbow connection,
but when I heard this song it made so much more sense as a life outlook.
I would use proper punctuation,
but it just doesn't MATTER anymore. |

To me, this song is about Weed. Going through tough times and losing all feeling of happiness or sadness which is the worst feeling you can get. But luckily for these two, they have cannabis! They can just get together and smoke their problems away and feel things again.
At least how that's how I view this song. It's what I think about when I hear it AND it's an excellent song to blaze to. |

But I also wonder, maybe, if this song is also about quitting smoking. Cigarettes or Weed I'm not sure but when I hear this song, I think of weed. Probably because I can relate to trying to quit smoking pot. I always get that feeling that I don't wish I still smoked... |

| Against Me! – T.S.R. (This Shit Rules) Lyrics

This is the SINGLE greatest song to listen to after a party.
"And the walls contained a resonation of laughter and conversation" I love that line. It's like the day after the party you reminisce about the night before and you can almost feel it in the walls.
"and if these are my friends, if this is my home,
if this is how i spend my nights, how i communicate, and demonstrate a love of life" My favourite lyric of all time. It's basically questioning if all the partying he's doing is wasting his life or not. Clearly by the line "No I'm not ready to die just yet" he thinks it is in no way a waste. |

I think this song is likely about Milo's wife. Now that he's always working all the time and there's the kids to worry about, he doesn't feel as close to her as he used to but he still wants to. He wants things to be like they were when their lives were free and carefree still. Anchor Grill is probably a place of special significance between them, maybe where they used to go on dates or something? Anyways, it's a great song. |

Wow I can so relate. I feel that way about my best friend even though she either can't see it or doesn't care. She always calls me in the middle of the night to talk and we're always together but she still doesn't feel that way about me... Fuckin terrible. |

| The Planet Smashers – Save It Lyrics

I think this song is about going on tour, and being away for a long time to find your purpose in life
"Wandering around the world trying to find myself"
But by doing that he is saying good-bye to the girl he loves. He can't tell her he loves her though. So he keeps procrastinating and tells himself he'll tell her when he gets back.
"Save it for the right time when we'll start again/ tomorrow's just around the bend/ softly crawl into my shell"
After touring for a while he realizes his home was where he belonged, with this girl.
"I turn around one day and there you are"
He then decides he has to tell her because now is the time.
"Don't save it cause the right time is the one we're in/ so no more waiting to begin open/ my heart going to let it sing each grain of sand is everything"
Really good song. Easy to relate to. |

"You can't stop the world/ Everything is going to be alright" is my all time favorite line in a song. It really got to me when I was going through a tough time. No matter how badly you want to you can't change fate, and everything always works out in the end for the good, even if it takes a long time. |
