| This song is about 2 people that started to fall in love/lust and it wasn't expected. The guy is down with it but the girl is a little hesitant and is being a little more stubborn about giving into the love / relationship. They have already kissed though, so he's telling her there is no turning back now. the bottom line is that it's happening almost by itself "it's not about you now, it's what we are." I also get the feeling he knows he's not exactly her type - "your needing someone older." To me I think of LA girls when I hear that line - always on the lookout for an older rich dude. | |

man...I love this song and i never paid much attention to the lyrics because most new Cure stuff is a bit bland lyrics wise....but when I just read this first verse...wow I got such a visual of exactly what he saying... ...basically about surrendering to a beautiful girl...i'm just not sure if its wishful or if he's describing it as undesirable. just picture the girl hypnotizing him and pointing down and down he goes...BRILIIANT!!! |

To me it means exactly what he's saying...but of course to listen to it too much means you are doing the opposite. I discovered this song on a blog and it made me realize WOW, this IS true to me, so for that I like it. However, I do think as far as the creator of the song, he is NOT over the person...it's sort of an opposite type of song...hard to explain. As he's listing what he does NOT do, it's actually proof that he is still experiencing them sometimes. |

This song reminds me of "Tenderness" from Clueless haha. This song sums up my last "girl" PERFECTLY. It's self explanatory. he's mad because everything was fine at one pint and everything seemed to be headed for the future then the bitch goes crazy and acts like there was never anything there. "I treat you like a princess But your life is just one big mess" He's mad that he's level headed and he see the potential but she doesn't get it, takes it forgranted, etc..: "We're one and a million Why can't you see?" He really doesn't want it to end but he knows it is ending...and he's being a man and acknowledging it...in fact maybe even ended it himself or acted in a way that caused the end. This song makes me feel so weird I almost can't even listen to it. At the same time i love it so much. It's so depressing sounding but at the same time so freaking hip. To me the song is about someone who you love and either its not working out or they are doing bad. I used to listen to this song sometimes and think of someone I knew who was ruining their life hardcore with drugs, and also my own drug use and life. It about someone you love perishing but how at the same time life is strange for everyone...and this persons problems somehow make your own more real. the emotion that this song brings to me is unlike any other. |
