a pretty dark song about being in deeply love with someone who is out of control, young and not ready to settle down...and believeing that you can and will wait untill they are ready to be with you. (bad idea hehe)

I really love the line about her being a solar flair in the rising son, like she's so careless and reckless with him and she doesn't even get it. One of New Order's more underrated songs for sure.

more or less agree with hypemike, except its not even a case of the younger person being able to settle down. They are ambivalent about even getting invovled in the first place, which is the singer keeps "hanging on"
Contrast the sentiment in this song with Krafty. Nice to see things have moved along for the better. I bet we've all met someone like this song mentions. It's never gonna happen, and later, years later, when you thnk about it, its so sad they were so fucked up, and how, but at the time "Solar flare in the rising sun" is absolutely what its like.
