I think this song's just about being a metalhead. In the Walk with me in hell dvd Randy talks about how on Sacrament he started writing more of these chant songs like Pathetic and Now you've got something to die for so their live audience could join in the singing more.
I think that's the whole point of the last part. A big ass crowd of people chanting about how they're proud about being different from everyone else. I think they just use the religion imagery because it's something a lot of people can relate to. |

Why 'cause you and everybody else think this song is about a girl and/or a relationship?
I thought what I said actually fit the song quite well.
But you know, I'm fairly certain that I'm wrong. I'm not the artist who poured their heart into the song. I'm sure there's a much more deeper meaning than smoking or a girl or whatever, specially to Ben or whatever his name is (I don't even listen to this band much.) But that's the beauty of music to me, I can listen and take my own meaning out of it, and be satisfied. Something that no member of this site is capable of. |

Slipknot wouldn't be the same without Clown and Chris.
Slipknot's not big on the record, they're all about the live show, and Clown and Chris make the live show like nothing else. Nothing gets the crowd goin' like Clown's drum set going up in the air on the forklift and Chris jumping off the stage into the crowd.
You people are just jealous that they took a shot at a shocking image and made it big, nothing you say is going to bring them down or make other fans stop liking them, just shut the fuck up, god damn.. |

Pretty sure this song has some connection to suicide "I don't need to be" and "Wish I died instead of lived." Sounds to me like he's very depressed and this is how he's getting it out. |

Since when do Cover songs have to be absolutely perfect to be good? Yeah Aaron fucked up the lyrics a little bit, but come on..it's Aaron. He may fuck the lyrics up, but he has the voice to make it good. Oh nooo! He said "jesus was a fucking whistler!" :OOO..
God, why are you bashing him for it? You couldn't do it any better.. |

It has absolutely no meaning, it doesn't have to do with Aaron's life. If you look in the Chapter V Limited Edition thingy, it says that this and "4 Walls" are the only 2 songs that don't have to do with his own life expierences. |

During the Family Values tour, Fred Durst dared Aaron Lewis to go out on stage with his acoustic guitar and play Outside..But, Aaron wasn't quite finished with the song so he had Fred go out there and sing it with him..so they played the song and it ended up being an extra track on the Family Values CD..So..a fan of Staind..heard the song..and thought that the lyrics touched his life so much..that he videotaped himself on Webcam hanging himself..with the Family Values Outside track playing in the backround..but before he took his own life..he left a Staind concert ticket in his room..his mother found it..along with the video on his computer..and went to the show..she approached Aaron at the tour bus, and asked him questions about her son's death..Now, Aaron now knowing this kid..and now having answers "I had no answers 'cause I didn't even know you." He fled into the bus without telling the kid's mother anything..So now, Aaron was so shocked about this..that he wrote a song.."Waste" in response to the kid's death..telling him that if Aaron's life was so fucked up..and how even HE pulled through it..the kid should have also.."I've had doubts,
I have failed,
I've fucked up,
I've had plans,
Doesn't mean I should take my life with my own hands" |

It's not really Aaron's lyrics..it's Scooter Ward's..but it's about how music is their only one true love in life..and how nobody can take music away from them. |
