I always thought of punk as a way to release stress, like yoga, I don’t give a fuck who you are what you look like, where you got your look, if you have a job or not, I go to shows to get in a pit, a scrap and burn stress like Jenny Craig. If a “Prep” shows up I wont treat him no different than I would treat a guy w/a meter long mow hawk. Its not about image, its about getting the message out. And if I saw some one at a GG Allin show (an example) I would expect them to share the ideas expressed by him. Like going to church, if you’re an Atheist you wont go so why would you go to a gig to watch, any bet if it worth seeing it will be on the news. Another thing, you cant call yourself a punk, it society that makes you a punk, a reject. So if you call yourself a punk you’re a retard. |

To me it sounds like the moral of the song is something on the lines of “were in bad times, how are you gona go play the happy crap right now.” As to imply escapism doesn’t work for Zevon, which would explain the tone of most of his songs. Regardless of the band in the song. |

Why do people buy band shirts. You can easily get a shirt from the dollar store q-tips and some bleach, legally if that’s how you roll, and Bleach the name of your favorite band upon you shirt! It may not look like the ones on hot topic but isn’t that what you’re trying not to look like? |

To me it appears to be about a mental conflict of weather to stay with or leave his lover while experiencing temporary psychological issues. |

| GG Allin – Die When You Die Lyrics

If you guys knew anything about GG’s life you you’d know that he isn’t fake, he grew up in isolation until he was six or some shit like that. His dad thought he was gona be the next fuckin Jesus Christ so he was named “Jesus Christ”. The guy went to school in drag. Need I get into his mission? He was a self-proclaimed rock and roll God, and Savior. He was putting the fear back into rock and roll. He claimed that he was God, Jesus and Satan all rolled into one. He got the name GG from his brother’s inability to pronounce Jesus becoming Je-Je or G G. If you think G.G. Allin was a fake a phony then you’ve tricked yourself into believing so. |

| GG Allin – You Hate Me & I Hate You Lyrics

This song is about people jugging at a glance and then Jesus (His Actual Name) gets pissed at them. “You never listen to my point of view, I´m telling you…” You don’t bother to listen to what I have to say. Plain And Simple.
A good example of this is the comments on the “bite it you scum” lyrics. |
