I'm not sure if this is right, but with the last line "hearts will hold", i've always thought he actually says "hearts will whole". For me, the theme of this song is about him trying to get over the one he loves. He knows that in the end, "everything will be fine", and his broken heart will piece back together; it will be whole again. |

i've always interpreted this song as the breaking down of a couple and all the arguments they have, and all the stereotypes of men and women. i think the lines "don't tell me that its over, i'm not used to this temptation" are referring to the fact that he has been in the relationship so long, but now when it gets to these lines the arguments have culminated, and they have broken up - "its over", he has freedom, hes not used to the "temptation" that the freedom gives him. |

i think i meaning is pretty self explanitory - you wish you didnt love someone as much as you do. you cant get angry at them - 'So that I can't stay mad at you for too long that's wrong'. that person just has a complete hold over you. |

i'm surprised that this song hasn't had more comments because its just so beautiful. i think that by just listening to the first line, 'i wonder what its like to be loved by you', you know that the song is going to be amazing. and it is. dannys voice is wonderful, and the music is just so calming. its a great song to listen to when you're trying to get to sleep; it just winds you down. amazing. |

i think that "fall asleep with the windows open", could be a way of committing suicide - if you sit in your car with the engine on and the windows open in your garage or something, all the fumes and gases make you fall unconcious and eventually die. that act could be referring to the "little death", but i dont know :( |

i think this songs amazing. its beautiful, and the meaning is beautiful too. i think it really goes well as the soundtrack to pearl harbor, because it relates to how evelyn lost danny; it could be her singing it. and, just to say, Hollister_Babe, she wasn't a whore, she just found herself in love with two friends, and its not like she just "went back to him", they loved each other and they worked things out. |
