I love the way Danny writes songs. The lyrics are just beautiful and its is such a (again) beautiful song to listen to I agree with FrankiexCore about the kid stuff, its really like he’s questioning it all. I sense religion or a lover has to do with this song
I agree with the two comments above me. It seems like Danny wants to write about something that he's so young and inexperienced in, he's asking things from a child's perspective to show his innocence.

That's my favourite bit.
I love this song, it always makes me cry when I listen to it. The lyrics are so beautiful and Danny's voice is like heaven.
I think it's about love, life, religion, I think the bridge is the most wonderful part of the song, just like sakura-k said.

I think it's about growing up and it's like a teenager thinking 'I'm going to have to fall in love soon'.
But obviously, you can't predict when it happens, "All I know is that with time I'll be fine" so he'll be happy until that time does come.
It's a quite a complex story for such simple lyrical song.
I do think it's nearly up there with Death Cab's, 'I Will Follow You into the Dark' for being such a sweet and innocent song, with just acoustic guitars.

I think it's about what is yet to come in life; and wondering what is going to happen in the future, So beautifully sung, with such beautiful lyrics. One of my Favourite songs of all time.
i'm surprised that this song hasn't had more comments because its just so beautiful. i think that by just listening to the first line, 'i wonder what its like to be loved by you', you know that the song is going to be amazing. and it is. dannys voice is wonderful, and the music is just so calming. its a great song to listen to when you're trying to get to sleep; it just winds you down. amazing.
