A Fine Frenzy – Bird of the Summer Lyrics 16 years ago
So beautiful. Summer romance is wonderful, yet heartbreaking.

Hello Saferide – The Quiz Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song! I think it's about a girl who's recently been hurt and let down by a guy, and now she's too afraid to lay out her heart again. So when she meets this new guy who seems alright, she still can't open up because she's afraid of betrayal, so she basically asks him whether he would stick by her. So cute<3

Groove Coverage – Far Away From Home Lyrics 16 years ago
Love this song! And I think it's about being far away from "home", which can mean literally the home where you live or "home" as in "home is where your heart is", i.e. someone you love. Home can also be something about safety. In can be interpreted in many ways, really.

But I think that the verses seem to be a little... disjointed, from the chorus. Can't really say what they mean.

And btw, have to say that my favorite part is where she sings, "And who can heal those tiny broken hearts?"<33

The Veronicas – Popular Lyrics 16 years ago
I loooove this song, it's so... bitchy, yet still up-beat and fun. Makes me think of Gossip Girl and Mean Girls. ESPECIALLY Mean Girls ("Don't try to hate me because I am so popular"? Gretchen, anyone?). The meaning of the song is quite obvious lol.

Emilia – Big Big World Lyrics 17 years ago
It's obviously about breaking up with someone, and then trying to prove (or knowing?) that you can survive without that guy. You're a big girl, but it's a big world and even if you can survive, it doesn't mean that you won't miss the guy or what you had. But likewise, you'll move on, even if you'll be sad, because that's only natural. I think the autumn theme that's going on in the first verse represents the change she's going through. Or she just thought it sounded pretty.

Love this song so much<3

Joshua Radin – Sky Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song is about two people who love each other very much, and though there are ups and downs in their relationship ("Sometimes I forget to love you like I should, but I'd never leave you"), they still would never leave their partner because they love each other so. But there's ALWAYS that underlying fear that the other will leave him/her, presenting itself in their dreams where they can't control things and see the rational side of things. But when they wake and see their beloved, who hasn't left or cheated on them, they probably love and appreciate them more. So they need to be reminded by the other one's presence that says they won't leave.

It's a cute and beautiful song, I like it.

Katy Perry – I Kissed a Girl Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this is more of just playing around and not doing what's expected of you to do, using a straight girl kissing another girl as an example. But it could also just mean that it's okay to be curious and experiment, or something like that. And if you're drunk you can do some things you wouldn't do while sober, (exhibit A; straight person kissing person of the same sex), like experimenting n' stuff... I don't really take the lyrics that seriously. Though, it's one helluva catchy song.
Plus, I like the way she sings "And I liked it"; it's got that attitude that just says "Yeah, and what'cha gonna do 'bout it?" :)

Britney Spears – Born To Make You Happy Lyrics 17 years ago
One of the song's songwriters, Andreas Carlsson, is a juge in the Swedish version of Idol. When one contestant sung this at an audition, he said "I don't know how the hell I got away with that chorus, but I did". I LOL'd.
But this song is okay, although a tad annoying... And I don't really like the lyrics.

If I'd have to pick a song to describe the word "love", I'd pick this song.

Switchfoot – Dare You To Move Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this is a sad song is about a failed relationship where something was said or done that damaged that relationship. I think of the first verse as the moments right after whatever was said or done, and the couple are scared of making a decision or even say or do something again because it might damage their relationship further and they don't want that. They wonder what will happen next. "Everyone's here" and "everybody's watching" could mean that it feels, for them, that the whole world is watching and waiting for them to do something, that it's not moving.

The part "dare you to move" is that one of them, the singer, dares the other one to make a move, but I think both of them are too afraid to do anything because of what might come next. The singer would want them to just pretend that whatever was said or done never happened and to get up again... I agree with Vanillic about the "I dare you to lift yourself up from the floor" line, with that depression can bring you down but that you shouldn't let it keep you down there on the ground.

The second verse is basically about that they're slowly realizing that the situation can't be ignored and that their relationship is probably beyond repair, but that one of them (or both) tries to be resistant and keep their relationship up. But it's also too tensed between them now and they are perhaps very confused about where they stand in this whole ordeal.

Whatever was said or done can't be forgiven even if they try, and they're sad that their relationship is failing and they try run away. But they realize that they can't escape from the situation, from themselves, and knows that they have to solve this, but they can't solve it, and they bitterly accept their downfall. But in the last, the singer tries to think that that day never happened.

I'm not that good at explaining things, but I basically thinks that all this happens just moments or days after whatever was said or done, but that it feels longer for the couple... or something. Did I repeat myself too much?

Matchbox Twenty – How Far We've Come Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it it's about that the world is, in some way, coming crashing down and only then we reflect on how far the human race has come, what we have accomplished and such, realizing that we've basically done more wrong than right... or someting like that. It could also be on a more personal level, like reflecting on how far you've come in your own life when you feel like it is ending and everything is shitty.

Is it only me who immideately thinks about the book "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer when I hear this song? 'Cause if you think of the lyrics, it's smack-dab-in-the-face perfect for the whole situation there.

Anyways, I love this song to pieces

Metro Station – Kelsey Lyrics 17 years ago
I lol at you all who thinks it about a cat, srsly c:
Mason wrote this about his girlfriend Chelsea (don't know if they're still together) but wouldn't record it with the name Chelsea because it was too personal, so it was changed to Kelsey.
The first thing that came to my mind when I listened to the lyrics was that it's about a guy who's in love with his friend (Kelsey) and is always there when she's rejected or dumped or whatever and needs a shoulder to cry on, but she's not in love with him but he knows this and accepts this. I don't think she knows that he's in love with her. Still, he's always there for her and would "swim the ocean" for her.
But I guess you can interpret it as just a love song. This is just my opinion :)

And cat theory? LAME, kthnxbai xD

Coldplay – Fix You Lyrics 17 years ago
I'll be honest with you: the first time I heard this I didn't like it. I thought it was boring and overrated, but soon enough it grew on me. Slowly, slowly but in the end (right now) I really like it. Give me some time and I'll love it. It's very beautiful and the guitar riff catches you off guard but it fits so well.

Butch Walker – Thank You Note Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, I get the first verse; it's a girl who is sick and is dying, obviously. This song is beautiful, the only thing that bothers me is Butch's voice... it has something I really don't like. But yeah.

Switchfoot – Meant To Live Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, everywhere people keep telling me that it's about Adam and Eve. But this can reflect to anyone, like about all the shit that happens in the world. You can interpret this in many different ways. I don't think that a song has just ONE meaning all the time.

Groove Coverage – Little June Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song means that this girl, June, was a fun-loving girl but who got murdered one day("Hands of a man that she barely knew") by someone that she maybe had met briefly at a party or something. Maybe she left with him and got killed then ("Taken away on a beautiful day").
