this song is completly how i feel right now. me n my bf of a year have just broken up cos it wasnt working, and i still love him, but i know its for the best, so i know itl b fine now we've seperated, but i will miss him. i think the leaves falling bit is about the relationship getting in2 trouble, and the big big girl in a big big world bit is saying that she can look after herself, and there are pleanty of oppertunities for her.

It's obviously about breaking up with someone, and then trying to prove (or knowing?) that you can survive without that guy. You're a big girl, but it's a big world and even if you can survive, it doesn't mean that you won't miss the guy or what you had. But likewise, you'll move on, even if you'll be sad, because that's only natural. I think the autumn theme that's going on in the first verse represents the change she's going through. Or she just thought it sounded pretty.

I don't think this song is trying to prove or show anything. It is not about whether you move on afterwards. It's just about something that has happened. Breakup. But she is a big big girl, in a big big world. She will move on. But she also knows she will miss the guy a lot. But she can survive on her own. But sometimes she will still think about him...
This happens in everyone's life. You lose someone or something, and you miss them. Whether you dump him/her, you cheated, or you just didn't spend enough time getting to understand each other. It is neither good or bad. You will still miss those memories. And it doesn't really mean that you want the relationship back, that you want you two to be together again. It doesn't mean that there is necessarily a particular "perfect" outcome in the end. It is just something quite beautiful that, when you look back, is worthing missing.

This Song was not about a fat girl, though written by one. As a person said above. It's not about a break up or love loss. It was about a girl who loved singing and the sound of the acoustics from living on the lake. So she sang and loud and every day after getting off the bus !! And she wrote this melody and first verse and course. I love my song! I wish it was my voice singing my song, but that's not what happened! Thank you for loving my song!!
