This song's not about an eating disorder. I can see where people think that, because eating disorders are completely about emotion and they aren't about "wanting to be beautiful" like most people believe. But when you have an eating disorder you become so fixated on your size, and you always feel gigantic. Even if your inches from death, you're never satisfied with your size enough to acknowledge that you are small. So the fact that she says that shows that she doesn't have the mind of someone with an eating disorder. Though I definitely think people who do suffer from them could really relate to the loneliness of this song. |

The way she feels = literally, she cuts herself because its easier to feel physical pain than the pain caused by whatever is happening in her life. The way that she feels is through cutting. I think this song is going to make so many people feel understood, and give them hope! |

For me personally, I relate this song to addiction. [Okay, this will be long-winded.] They're such a struggle to get over, because when you have them, whatever they may be (drugs, eating disorders, sex), its about running away from your emotions. Whenever you start to have a dream, and you could actually imagine yourself becoming happy you turn to your addiction until its the only thing you have. "Will I get better? Or stay the same? I found I always move too slowly Can't lift a finger, can't change my mind I never knew till someone told me that If that's all you will be, You'll be a waste of time You've dreamed a thousand dreams, None seem to stick in your mind Two points for honesty It must make you sad to know that Nobody cares at all " And along the path of trying to recover from addictions, through rehab or hospitalizations, you meet people who've gone through what you've gone through. They've gotten better, so it can obviously be done. And you know how to make yourself better. But its just too hard to feel the emotions.
