Mika has the Queen thing going on, but he also reminds me of Elton John and The Bee Gees. When I first heard the song, I instantly thought of relationships. Then again, not all songs are about love, eh? But if it is about a relationship, then he's saying he can change himself for the girl... or guy, if he really is gay. He does NOT change, however, and asks why doesn't she/he like him. |

I'm so glad I heard them when our local radio station played them. I don't know what I would do without Street to Nowhere. As for the song, Dave refers to his brother once, and he seems to be an important person in the Street to Nowhere songs. (see "They're Not Like Us") Dave is also known for his love to play the acoustic guitar whenever he gets the chance, rather than his electric. Maybe by saying "no acoustic sound" and "a new set of lungs", he means the band is straying away from their roots to make the crowd love them. After all, they're not very well known, and they were recently signed by Capital... even though that was like a year ago. (I liked them even when they were an independent artist.) |

Street to Nowhere has AMAZING songs, and this one is definitely one of the best. In this song Dave refers to "them" and "the world". Many people these days seem to be unaware of the pain crawling inside people; they add to their agony by not understanding their thoughts and emotions, or at least not wanting to understand them. Everyone needs to bring themselves down to a lower level and at least ATTEMPT to empathize others. Simply by letting them know that you care for them will assuage their pain, even by a little bit. |

To what sk8ordie1990 said, I think it makes sense because anyone can have their own interpretation. Davey and the rest of the band is definitely wondering if people's slander and other put downs will extinguish their fame. On the other hand, Davey seems to have the drive to do anything to maintain his glory and repuation, if you interpret "Miss Murder" that way. I don't think they'll ever fade, however. Their fans have faith in them, and they will always be behind AFI. |
