The Goo Goo Dolls – Notbroken Lyrics 15 years ago
John's said in many interviews was that this song was written as a love letter that he wrote on behalf of a woman he met in a meet and greet who told him about her husband who was injured in the war and he was too ashamed to come home from the hospital because he felt that he wasn't whole even though she loved him just the same. Hope that helps. :)

Edwin McCain – Radio Star Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree with live4music, he is an asshole and if he knew anything about John Rzeznik (the person he's refering to in the first paragraph) he'd know that he wouldn't do that just to sell records. So what if John had revealed that for Behind the Music? Isn't that what's it's for, to let people know where they came from and whatnot? It's not like he goes around and tells people that on purpose.

Well, Mr. McCain got his just deserts for that one. ;)

The Goo Goo Dolls – Jenny 867-5309 (Tommy Tutone cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
Yes they did, but they weren't being very serious about it. When they had this customized-concert for Oxygen, they let people choose the playlist, and one of the parts let people choose a cover for them to play and this was one of the choices.

I know that they didn't play this the song at that particular concert (the choice that won was Tom Petty's American Girl), but I'm guessing that this was a recorded practice of it were they fooled around and weren't being very serious.

Hope that helped.

Rob Thomas – Lonely No More Lyrics 19 years ago
Okay, many people have claimed over and over that Rob's a sell-out, but if you've ever seen this one interview of his, the only reason that he sounds so different on his solo recond stylistically was because even before he even made the record, his only preconceived idea was to avoid making this some like another matchbox record (since he's obviously the principle songwriter for them) and to make it as diverse as possible.

Plus, if you owned the record you'd obviously see the stylistic differences between the songs, so to put it bluntly, this is not cookie-cutter pop record by ANY means.

And believe it or not, this was an actual song he wrote for MB20, it's just that the others passed on it.

Love it or hate it, it's only your opinion and not a verdict about selling out. And, if I recall the words of another famous musician, in order to sell out, you have to do something do -don't- want to do just get something out of it (whether it be money or something else) in the end.

Regardless of his foray into a solo career, he IS going back to MB20 for another record just so you guys know. This was just a temporary break for everyone in band to pursue different side projects.

Oh, and as for that one line that everyone seems to be trying to figure out, unless if it was a metaphoral meaning, could it be referring to french kissing?

Because that does sort of makes sense without making it seem like he's gay/bi...
