Jenny 867-5309 (Tommy Tutone cover) Lyrics
Jenny, Jenny, who can I turn to?
You give me something I can hold on to
I know you think I'm like the others before
Who saw your name and number on the wall
Yeah, sing it
Jenny, I got your number
I need to make you mine
Jenny, don't change your number

Jenny, Jenny, you're the girl for me (Woo! Sing it!)
You don't know me, but you make me so happy!
I tried to call you before but I lost my nerve
I tried my imagination, but someone kept knockin' on the bathroom door
(I'm washin' my hands!)
Jenny - I'll be out in a minute!
What are you doing in there? Nothing!
Jenny, don't change your number

Do they even sing this????
Yes they did, but they weren't being very serious about it. When they had this customized-concert for Oxygen, they let people choose the playlist, and one of the parts let people choose a cover for them to play and this was one of the choices.
I know that they didn't play this the song at that particular concert (the choice that won was Tom Petty's American Girl), but I'm guessing that this was a recorded practice of it were they fooled around and weren't being very serious.
Hope that helped.
Yeah thanks when I first saw it I was confused. I heard it a few days ago. It is so funny. I saw them perform American Girl that sounded good. Thanks for your help! =)
WAY back in the day, they used to play this song live quite frequently. Occasionally they used to even pull members of the crowd up on stage to sing it for them, if they knew the lyrics. As long as I'm showing my age, they used to also play "King of the Road" live (or Robbie would) to pass the time while John changed broken guitar strings. Pretty hysterical thinking back on the fact that a mosh-pit would be put on hold so everyone (usually the whole crowd would sing along) could sing a song written decades before.
This is a cover. it's written by Alex Call and Jim Keller, performed by Tommy Tutone.
good song :P
