It is very much about the Garden of Eden - about this magical time before temptation when things were perfect, unsullied, innocent, and lasted forever. That's why the entire thing is drenched in sadness and mourning -- it just can't last. It won't. It will fall apart and die. That's also why this song is just so fucking beautiful and heartbreaking. |
