| Riverside – In Two Minds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song means something to me, probably different to the intended meaning. Essentially i am caught in 2 minds. I have a certain philosophy on life, but I am scared of losing a girl I like unless I change because i don't know if she can really relate to me any more i feel us drifting apart day by day.... Should I reach for the stars, or settle for a simpler life? Whatever the case i will be there for her. |

| Counting Crows – Speedway Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song reflects my life well to some degree, wanting to leave home and get away from my local society. | |
| Porcupine Tree – Buying New Soul Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| listening to it for the first time right now and absolutely loving it :D | |
| Porcupine Tree – Feel So Low Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I like the transition of past to present tense. Its clearly about someone expressing feelings for someone else who does not share the feelings. I can't quite understand whether he/she has gotten over theiur feelings as the lines 'And I can laugh about it now' and 'You make me feel so low' are kind of contradictory. |

| Porcupine Tree – Lightbulb Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song might be showing how the curiosity of humans keeps us from simply spending all our time indoors even when we have everything handed to us on a plate. | |
| Porcupine Tree – Anesthetize Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i love the imagery on the last verse where he is singing about the sea..... i also like the way he sings the melody with repetition it, helps picture the waves, really beautiful and clever |

| A Perfect Circle – Sleeping Beauty Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
such a sad song, basically draws comparison to the childhood fairy tale of the prince waking the beautiful princess with a kiss after she had been put to sleep for 1000 years. The song shows how sadly fairytales are not always true by showing that the "prince" cannot wake the princess from her sleep, this could mean he can't stop her from following a downward spiral or other scenarios to that effect, he cannot save her. |

| Masterpiece. | |
| Incubus – Deep Inside Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the bass lines on S.C.I.E.N.C.E, Deep inside is a perfect example, really gives it the jazz feel to it. | |
| Tool – Triad Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with whoever said this song is quite negative, the general tone of it is quite grounded, very tribal and fast moving, there is also some very tormented sounding screams throughout except at one one point; about 4:20 where there is such a freeing and uplifting part of the song. I feel this song means something in the context of the rest of the cd, what that meaning is, i have no idea just now. | |

| Del Amitri – Roll To Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Del Amitri are a band that only e very small minority will find, but many if they knew of them would like them. They truly are a hidden treasure all the way through their CDs | |
| 10 Years – All White Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The meaning that i get for this song is very strange, and yet is still very beautiful. It seems the tale is told from the deceased who is lying in his/her coffin (box). He/she is listening to the prayers being offered, and the attempts to console those who wept at the his/her death. I think the chorus "(falling away) I feel me changing (expressions so vague) Why aren't you screaming" is describing the transition from Earth and life to the afterlife as he/she drifts away. |

| Tool – Lateralus Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I don't know why no-one has commented on this yet, but if you look at the cover art the title is not lateralus, it is "la te ra lus". That is 4 words and if they could be deciphered i think it might help in the understanding of this CD. I have compared this with enochian, french and latin, but to no avail. La te ra lus must mean something...it is surely the key to the album. |

| Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I know this isn't really the true meaning, but i like to think this song is about the hypocrisy of politics..i especially like the lines "Liar, lawyer, mirror show me. what's the difference?" and "Liar, lawyer, mirror for ya. what's the difference?" My wee brother is wanting to become a Lawyer, so i kind of use it to remind of what i think of Lawyers and Politicians in general. He is also a pretty big Tool fan so he knows exactly what i'm talkin' 'bout :) |

| 10 Years – Magna-phi Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
hmmm, this song is extremely hard to decipher...mainly due to Jesse Haseks lyrics, they are cryptic, and i suspect this song may only make sense to him. The title Magna-Phi gives no clue whatsoever. Phi is F in the greek alphabet i believe, but Magna does not have any apparent relevance or link with Phi. Well, the lyrics...i have already said that they are cryptic, but i think i get the general idea behind the song. I believe it is about someone who simply obsesses over sex, and uses other to get it regardless of the damage done to them and him/her self. I feel there is more to this song, but it is hard to say for sure as the lyrics are a little confusing. |

| A Perfect Circle – Lullaby Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
What i don't quite understand is that A Perfect Circle include a copy protection on the CD and then include hidden messages which can only be deciphered through some serious analyzing of the music, which is not possible with the player provided...very odd. As far as this song goes, i was initially convinced that it was a simple filler song linking Pet and Gravity, however it is probable that their is some hidden message of which i am not aware seeing as that is what APC/Tool seem to love doing. |

| A Perfect Circle – Passive Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I believe that this song has 3 Characters, 1 minor character(Doctor) and the other 2 Major Characters (The Dominant/Aggressive person and the Passive person) and the theme in my opinion is about insecurity and people being equal, which is certainly a common theme on eMOTIVe At the beginning of the song the Doctor says to the Aggressive person that the passive person is dead shown by the following lyrics "Dead as dead can be The doctor tells me" "Leaning over you here Cold and catatonic" The Aggressive person seems to believe that the passive character is only pretending to be dead shown by the following lines "But I just can't believe him Ever the optimistic one" And the chorus reinforces this repeatedly saying Wake up(why can't you) And face me (come on now) Don't play dead(don't play dead) I believe the Aggressive character is scared of losing the passive person and they therefore threaten the passive person with leaving them just like the passive person has done to the Aggressive person by dying. The whole song seems to be the Aggressive character dealing with the loss the only way they know how...in an aggressive manner The last few line i haven't figured out, i suspect that it is Maynard speaking there, possibly being ironic, saying being passive or aggresive is total bullshit and it makes no real difference because people are all the same despite the way they show it. |

| Soundgarden – Zero Chance Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think this song is about a baby brought into the world and left alone when very young who is desperate to find its roots. "I stumbled on and all the world Fell down And all the sky went silent Cracked like glass and slowly Tumbled to the ground" These lyrics illustrate how the baby just "stumbled" into this world. The words convey confusion and uncertainty, which would be experienced by any kid abandoned so young. "They say if you look hard You'll find your way back home Born without a friend And bound to die alone" These lyrics suggest to me the kid is searching for whoever brought this child into the world, desperate for someone(Parent) to care for him. "I'm thinking of your highness And crying long upon the loss I've found And on the plus and minus Zero chance of ever Turning this around" This is imo the depression after failing to find the parents during the search, the first few lines state the sadness at being unable to find the parents and the rest of the verse is regarding the inevitable failure that the child faces, with no chance right from the start of life :( . A very sad song indeed. |
