old stuff > new stuff. And this song is proof. |

If the bottom part is indeed about abortion (which I'm guessing is right), then maybe Travis Bickle, the heart-beat track, is a link to this song. I don't the significance of the name Travis Bickle is though, it seems irrelevant to the vocalist of this band. |

Isn't it "Thinking that life matters is an UNDERSTATEMENT" ? An overstatement would be contradicting the rest of the song. I hear understatement, anyway. |

Also, Godofmusic, there's a difference between selling out and getting popular. The horses could have something to with the 5 horsemen, but it doesn't seem likely. I'll go do some bible search. |

Sickofchange, I really don't think Aaron would write about that, it's more of actually he can't run from the sin he's committed. He can't from God, and he knows it. :] |

| Catherine – Denigration Makes John Doe Angry Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The song is about people who say they're for individuality but really they follow the crowd and make fun of others who aren't part of the scene. So, Shindemon, you're 100% correct. |

| Maylene and the Sons of Disaster – Death In An Alcoholic Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"I'm heading home alone, Living out this call Don't give up your stronger than you look Just know that I've loved you both" while these songs are about Ma Baker and her gang, they also have meanings behind them. I feel that that line could show that he loves his wife and Corgan, his kid. Heading home may mean touring. He told me once after a show that the hardest part isn't leaving them, it's coming home to them, because he realizes that he's going to have to leave them again soon. |

| Maylene and the Sons of Disaster – Darkest Of Kin Lyrics | 18 years ago |

"Baby I'm bad, I'm the fear in your eyes That hate in your heart has been branded with my name" I love this song, the lyrics especially. Dallas seems like he's telling the story when the brothers were at their peak, as shown by their cockiness in this song. |

| Maylene and the Sons of Disaster – Wylie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is song is even better live. I really like the line "These Palms don't lie, I can't focus, when the static's on" | |
| Maylene and the Sons of Disaster – Memories Of The Grove Lyrics | 18 years ago |

How has no one commented on this? I've had this album since Feb. These lyrics are good, Dallas seems more confident in this album. All these guys have improved a ton, too. MATSOD is good people. |

mwYFAN is 100% right. He's not a Jew, but a devoute Christian. Anyway, my buddy suggests it's something to do about life and how it ends, hence the "no more spider no more leaf no more me no more belief" But, I think it may be something along the lines of what he requires in a lady and visa versa. That's just an idea, and I'm throwing it out there, I'm totally unsure about it, actually. |

Thanks for the info Fallen. I adore this song for it's lyrics. They're really good, maybe my favorite on the album. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – 20th Century Towers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"keeping busy is just wasting time and i've wasted what little he gave me. (all around) i know the conscious choice was crystal clear, to clear the slate of former years: when i sang softly in your ear and tied these arms around you." Keeping busy is wasting time means that by doing some job such as working at a store, or being a waiter, is wasting time to become something big. To do what you wanted. By keeping busy after your graduation you're wasting time. You're staying at once pace not really going anywhere. Ben Gibbard seems like he knew what he wanted to do, but never did it. |
