Death In An Alcoholic Lyrics

Pacing back and forth it's shut, but I keep making sure
Put the hurt at some ease
Keeping thinking how we've helped each other lose our face
It's closer than you think

Empty moving, Place To Place
Broken on the inside is my purpose in life

I'm heading home alone, Living out this call
Don't give up your stronger than you look
Just know I've loved you both

When you fall apart you tend to change
I won't be be breathing for too long
There's more to me than this moment I do believe
There's more to me than this moment, feeling more than I can see

Empty Moving, Down The Road
I'd regret the fact that I never knew you

I'm heading home alone, Living out this call
Don't give up your stronger than you look
Just know that I've loved you both

And keep holding on, even after I'm gone
In this you can always find me, always find me
You're stronger than you look
Believe that things are getting better
All these things are getting better
You're stronger than you look

call me an over-analyzing Christian, but i think it can also pertain to Jesus' final words to the disciples, or a dying person's words before they go to heaven. that was just my first thought when i heard "I'm heading home alone, Living out this call"

while these songs are about Ma Baker and her gang, they also have meanings behind them. I feel that that line could show that he loves his wife and Corgan, his kid. Heading home may mean touring.

He told me once after a show that the hardest part isn't leaving them, it's coming home to them, because he realizes that he's going to have to leave them again soon.

mutanttoasterltd has a very good point. all of ya do, but yeah i agree with what he said. because he says 'im heading home, living out this call' - obviously a bell should ring here. 'don't give up, you're stonger than you look' - again thats something Jesus would totally say 'just know i've loved you both' - Jesus saying he loves both the saved and unsaved, maybe? but then again, he could very well be talking about his family.

I think this song's talking about how he loves his sinful nature but's tearing him apart and how he finds a new strength in christ. That and that later down the road in life, none of that will matter. The afterlife is what counts and he's glad he is investing in Jesus now.
