| Pixie Lott – What U Do Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Also I forgot to mention that I like how instead of singing from her own point of view, the lyrics are more based on the point of view of two people in a relationship, like they're having the same effect on each other. | |
| Tat – Live For Rock Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Haha. Well the "Thank you, Cleveland" at the end is a reference to Spinal Tap, obviously. This song is awesome. Sort of like a middle finger to either big bands who "sell out" or record execs who pressure bands into "selling out". |
| Tat – You Hero Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"What doesn't kill you hurts like a bitch" is one of the greatest song lyrics I've ever heard. Seems like the lyrics are dripping with sarcasm. Maybe that's just because I'm not listening to the song as I write this. |
| Pixie Lott – Rolling Stone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is ridiculously catchy, especially the call and response bit. I'm surprised they waited until the deluxe edition to put it out there. Anyway, pretty self-explanatory meaning. She wants a guy who'll be there for her instead of moving in and out of her life all the time. There's another song that she starts off with "Red one, Pixie," I think.... anybody know what that means? If anything? |
| Jesse & Joy – Volveré Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I first heard this song in my Spanish III class and I was instantly hooked. If I remember correctly, it's translated something like this: I was there and didn't realize it I had it all and I couldn't tell Yes, black, white, good, and bad were all there Now that I'm away, I realize what I lost. I want to return, I need to be there I feel the nostalgia of the place where I was born I will return, conscious of where I've been You are my place I will return, I'll be there forever And there I will stay I will return, nothing will hold me back I want to be with you I took the wrong road, it lead me away from you But I realized and repented Today I woke up unafraid of feeling I can't resist your sweet love I want to return, I don't want to be without you anymore I feel the nostalgia of the place where I was born repeat chorus |

| Pixie Lott – What U Do Lyrics | 16 years ago |
There are parts of this song where she really reminds me of Natasha Bedingfield. Looks like one of those songs about falling for someone and then looking at yourself and not being able to recognize who you are anymore. In the good way, naturally. |
| Pixie Lott – Want You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I kind of see this song as the lyrical opposite of "Rolling Stone". She doesn't want to be in a relationship because she's on the road all the time, and she realizes it must be hard on him. But she still wants to be with him anyway. | |
| Pixie Lott – Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
To get more specific she's actually using the conditional tense (what would my mama do) along with the imperfect subjunctive (if she knew about me and you) here to create an "if this, then what?" question. My Spanish is a bit rusty, but I think the translation would be something like: ¿Qué harÃa mi madre si supiera acerca de nos? I don't know if "acerca de nos" is an accurate translation for "about us)", but we're just looking at the verb conjugations anyway, so I guess it's not that important. Does that help? |
| Goldfinger – Youth Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This one's really speaking to me a lot right now... just sort of a realization of all the shit you did in the past and how even though you didn't recognize it then, things were a lot better back then. For me, it kinda talks to me about the one that got away... |
| Anarchy Club – Get Clean Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Keith reportedly completely immersed himself in research to try and tell it from a prisoner's point of view. I guess it worked because this is one of the most lyrically powerful songs I've ever heard. I think the "try not to breathe" refers more to the horrible stench from the bodies being burned rather than the gas chambers.... the bridge (and I guess the end of the second verse) seems to refer more to the gas chambers (single file through the door... I am not afraid to die...). @Scorpionsphynx, all of the gates at the camps said "Work will set you free", except for Buchenwald, which said "Jedem das Seine", meaning "to each his own" (or the more sinister "everyone gets what he or she deserves"). |
| Neil Diamond – I'm Alive Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Huh, no comments on this song? It's actually one of the few of his songs I can stand to listen to... It was also covered awesomely (and more upbeat) by David Cook, which is actually a better version in my eyes, given the really upbeat message of the lyrics... | |
| Anarchy Club – Blood Doll Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I totally agree. Especially with lyrics like "sanguine sting". | |
| Nine Inch Nails – The Perfect Drug Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| My theory as to why they don't play it live is because the drum solo would make the drummer's arms fall off. | |
| Iron Maiden – Wasted Years Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Ha ha, I know, right? Especially since Adrian wrote this song. | |
| Damone – Wasted Years Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This cover is way awesome. Noelle's voice really works well with the stripped down version... I think Adrian Smith's meaning behind the song is kind of obvious... you can't ever reclaim the past, and you've got to make the most of what's happening now, cause the "golden years" are all that really matters. |

| Electric Six – Danger! High Voltage Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is probably one of the greatest songs ever. | |
| Brooke White – The Way Things Used to Be Lyrics | 17 years ago |
That she does. That she does... I really like this song. Probably has something to do with the fact that I practically live my life in the past. :S |
| Brooke White – Keep Running Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is pretty haunting. I don't know. Probably because of the apparent theme of death surrounding it. :( | |
| Brooke White – Dream On Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I wasn't really sure how well this song would work out with her voice, but I've got to say that, I think the arrangement with the piano and soft female voice probably works just as good... if not better... than the original. | |
| Brooke White – Free Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ha ha, no problem... It's amazing what you can accomplish when you can't sleep. I think this is probably the best song to start the album off on. Nice upbeat message about being able to overcome... which is much easier said than done. |
| Brooke White – Change Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this one's probably my favorite song on Songs from the Attic... Just an amazing depiction of depression... and of how frustrating it can be for the people who try to help, but just can't do anything to make it better... | |
| Meat Loaf – Left in the Dark Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I really love this song... so much emotion... Incidentally, I never knew about that intro, but it does make the "You made the very first move" make sense... |
| The Bravery – Tragedy Bound Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Wow... this is a really dark song... great, but dark. | |
| Green Day – Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I find it sort of ironic that adult soft rock stations play this song, considering Green Day's punk roots... | |
| The Turtles – We'll Meet Again Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love this one... such a sad message, but I love how the melody and rhythm is all upbeat... :D | |
| The Turtles – Elenore Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Love it, love the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version of it, just a great song. | |
| Billy Joel – We Didn't Start the Fire Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Wikipedia has a really good article on this song... | |
| My Chemical Romance – It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fucking Deathwish Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Um. Like, best MCR song ever. Anyway, xStake My Heartx basically covered everything about to say, so that just saved me some time from typing out my thoughts... |
| Stefy – Chelsea Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Heh. So who has heard the Spanish version? | |
| Josh Groban – Hymne A L'amour Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The blue sky can collapse on us And the earth can cave in Little matters to me if you love me I couldn’t care less about the whole world As long as love will flood my mornings As long as my body will quiver beneath your hands Problems matter so little to me My love, because you love me I would go to the ends of the earth I would dye my hair blonde If you asked me to I would pull down the moon I would steal fortune If you asked me to I would disavow my homeland I would disavow my friends If you asked me to One could well laugh at me I would do anything I would do anything If you asked me to If one day life tears you away from me If you die and are far from me Little matters to me if you love me Because I will die too We would have eternity for ourselves In the blue of all immensity In heaven, no more problems My love, do you believe that we're in love? ...God reunites those who love each other! |
| Josh Groban – Un Día Llegará Lyrics | 18 years ago |
LOL, translation sites. More accurately, I think it'd be something like this: The dry leaves will fall And when April arrives You will touch my soul You will approach... will come for me After so much solitude I want to feel To find my peace in you When the city sleeps And the sun slips away I will seek you again Until reaching this illusion I find you... and you love me like this And I will listen in the silence to the voice of the heart And the storm will abate in your arms It's worth it to expect your love Because one day it will come I will find you... and you will love me like this... And I will listen in the silence to the voice of the heart And the storm will abate in your arms It's worth it to hope for your love tomorrow I will embrace you in the silence All my life, I have waited for your love And the arrival of the day when you come to me |

| Josh Groban – February Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| He performed this on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night... good stuff. | |
| Josh Groban – Solo Por Ti Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Tell me what I would do With my days Who could dream If you weren't there How could I Breathe the Air, far from you When you're not here Only for you I would walk Into infinity I would face Eternity with you Only for you Tell me What your soul feels Tell me why It lives in me I don't know but I'm dying, slowly Alone, without you I remain sad like this Only for you I would walk Into infinity I would face Eternity with you Only for you I will give you A thousand poems I will write them For you I will sing My melodies With the music Of your soul Only for you I would walk Into infinity I would face Eternity with you Only for you I would walk Into infinity I would face Love for eternity Just me Only for you |
| Josh Groban – L'Ultima Notte Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Translation: Who knows why you stand there thus With those eyes fixed on me You will see that it will pass It's just that I didn't expect This madness I will pretend I get used to it I will go on in silence without you Alone with the memories Tomorrow everything will end But for now, stay here Here with me because it will be The last night together You will see, you will see that it will be fixed It hurts a little now, but that will go away Dreams of forever Are the most difficult To throw away Alone with the memories Tomorrow everything will end But for now, stay here Here with me because it will be The last night together I will continue, I will bear This immense pain with you Alone with the memories Tomorrow everything will end But for now, stay here Here with me because it will be The last night together This, here, will be The last night together With you |

| Good Charlotte – The River Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Mm. Good Charlotte, M. Shadows, and Synyster Gates. Can't really get too much more kickass than that. Great song, can't wait to get the rest of the album. |
| My Chemical Romance – The Ghost of You (Reverse) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well if you put the lyrics in front of somebody, of course they're going to hear them... I really can't hear half of the lyrics posted here unless I know what I'm trying to hear... quite a few of the ones I can hear are kind of a stretch, too. Nonetheless, I feel completely freaked out considering I even heard that much. That would be a VERY bizarre coincidence if it wasn't intentional. :S |
| My Chemical Romance – Famous Last Words Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The more I listen to this song, the more I think that The Patient actually didn't die... | |
| The Click Five – Say Goodnight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Well now I don't feel as crazy as usual. Thank you. ;) | |
| Dropkick Murphys – The Green Fields of France (Eric Bogle cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"The full lyrics can be found at: http://members.fortunecity.com/folkfred/wilreply.html" Awesome. Thanks for that. :D |
| New Found Glory – (Everything I Do) I Do It for You (Bryan Adams cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Pretty damn awesome cover. Nuff said. | |
| Meat Loaf – Life Is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Funnily enough, I think this song is for music what Fight Club is for movies - and Meat is in both ;)" Ahem. What is rule number one of Fight Club? ;) |
| Meat Loaf – It's All Coming Back to Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Wasn't this one supposed to be on a previous Bat Out of Hell? Anyway, great song. Powerful... love the music video, too. | |
| Meat Loaf – In the Land of the Pig, the Butcher Is King Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Yeah, pretty cool song. One of the better ones off BooH III. | |
| New Found Glory – Sticks And Stones Hidden Track Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've got to stop assuming CDs end after the last track. The same thing happened to me with TOOL's "LateralUs" album. I left this CD on after listening to it in its entirety and was reflecting on the awesomeness of it... after a while, I forgot that it was playing... until I just hear this loud scream.... ah, bloody hell. Good stuff. |
| New Found Glory – Oxygen Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I find myself singing this while walking down the hall sometimes... catchy tune. | |
| New Found Glory – Hold My Hand Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"In my mind, a hard lesson to learn." He sort of pronounces "a hard lesson" a bit weird, but I can definitely tell that's what it is... |
| New Found Glory – Who Am I Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song rocks... well the whole album is boss, but this is definitely a solid tune. I'm afloat in the ocean, trying not to sink... |
| Billy Joel – We Didn't Start the Fire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Interestingly, he wrote the words to this before the music... which sort of explains some things about the song. Granted I love this song, and I'm not exactly sure why I do, but it's great. |
| Billy Joel – The Longest Time Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Just had to dig out my Billy Joel CDs after I heard this one on the radio today. :D Just one of those feel-good songs, you know? Really speaks volumes to me. =) |
