I adore this song. I basically think it mean's that she's got this boyfriend that neither of her parents approve of, so she's sneakin out, but also she's like "what would my mama do" basically if she found out what she really got up to. She's hurting through this relationship with the boy possibly becase she's lying to her parents.

Yeah i think similar to Tannie, maybe that she is going back out with an ex boyfriend that has hurt her in the past or something and she is scared what her dad would say to her or maybe even him, also what her mum would do to her again maybe him. I really like the video again, its like she is telling the boy its over and maybe she has realized that her parents are correct.
This song is brilliant, it sums up brilliantly the situation i'm in with my boyfriend, whom i keep a secret from my parents, and more recently my friends.

Yeah, I love also this song but... I don't understand why she says: "Mamma do" instead of "Mamma does". In this case, ok, maybe is in order to get a better sound but why she doesn't say "daddy says"??? I'm spanish so, probably will be something i can't undertand. Can anybody answer me?? thanks a lot.
