| Lyrically, this is one of my favorite songs. This song is about giving your all to someone or something and not realizing that you are being taken advantage of while it is happening. After realizing what is going on, you break free because you see that that something/someone is one that takes all of you but never gives anything in return. This song is so beautiful and also one of my LP faves. This is about a guy hurting a girl he loves and regretting it. He wishes that he could take everything he did to hurt her back. This is my favorite song from Hybrid Theory. I remember playing this song till my ears bled. :) This song is being in a unhealthy relationship for a long time and not being able to move on and break up despite knowing that the relationship is not working out. The guy in this relationship was always the one trying to keep it together and pretended to be happy. Even though he tried so hard to make things work, he sees that the girl in the relationship is not putting forth the same effort to make it work. He starts to wonder why it is that he is has fooled himself into thinking that this would work and wonders why he is still with her. This is pretty much the realization that the relationship needs to end. |

First off, I love this song. I think that this is about a guy that loves a girl who seems to be a very unhappy person. He began to vibe off her and felt the same way that she was feeling. This is about one taking a stand and not waiting around to be rescued by a 'hero.' Its almost as if all hope is gone. Some people say that love is all we need to be happy and peaceful. A lot of the times, love has a positive connotation but there is so much awful crap that comes of it, too. Love brings up so much unhappiness, pain, and violence. When one gives up hope, one tends to look at the negative side of everything. Then again, one can be a hero to someone and show them that sometimes love can be a beautiful thing. It works both ways.This is actually not a very postive song... lol. |

Tihs song is so beautiful. Tihs songs is about a guy doing everything to get the girl that he loves. Why he is doign this is still kind of confusing to me. Did he cheat and now he wants to win her back however he can? Is she poison to him that eats away at him but he loves her regardless? Maybe this is one of those relationships where both people do more harm to each other than good. In the end, one of them will realize that it is better off to let go and move on in order to keep their sanity. |

He can't seem to find a way to let his girl go and he finds himself cheating just so that the girl can break up with him. The girl loves him and wants to hang to him, though. SHe knows that he is cheating but refuses to breaking up with him. "Im holding out but not getting an answer..." is like he is asking her if she wants it to end but she will not reply. H doesnt want to hurt her and regrets having cheated, but that was the only way out, or so he thought. | |
