I agree completely. I also think Damon is being very subtle, but mocking our culture. Fast food is an icon of over-indulgent, selfish, modern behavior. We are all in such a rush to get things done, we lose the value of it all. Our rushed, hectic, unhealthy lifestyles are ruining exactly what we mean to enjoy. |

i agree star. I dont think its there best, but certainly up there.
I think its about the narrator knowing full well the control she has over her lover, and using it to milk all she can out of him/her before leaving them, because she knows she isn't in love with her lover. |

I agree, i think its about the expectations of society to fall in love and commit yourself to one person, but all the while you cant ignore the melancholy of it all... you start to look around and imagine being happier, more alive, re experiencing that 'new love' happiness.
I love this song. All of their songs are so unique sounding...i've yet to find a band that has their sound. |

Wrong way, i think you're looking wayy too much into it. I think he's talking about school, hence "a ringing bell" and how he pretends to be happy (behind my smile), but still he is tormented (as vampires feed, i bleed). Then he's saying "why are we here" b/c he wants to leave. then he's saying he escapes in his mind (my mind secedes).

its about an old love that still hurts him. the beginning is explaining his day to day routine w/o her in his life.. and yes the three words are I love you, but he doesn't have the strength to call her. he's saying he has all these vivid memories of her, but she's killing him, hence the last line. good song. |

its about a boy named james who's mother dies and he wants to run away with his best firend molly. james is saying he's been in that place far too long and its killing him, he wants to look for his mom. "

that's saying how they have to travel to the bottom of the ocean to find her, b/c that's where she always wanted to go. then he's saying "here comes your son", being james. Then in the last verse james is saying how they'll explore the world and all its beauty and they'll bask in the infinite knowledge that they'll attain.
my favorite line is the last; "it's true everyone must leave but I think it's who you hold inside your heart that keeps you warm while they've gone away ".
this is a beautifully metephorically written songs one of hsh's best. |

This song sounds a lot like as a child he witnessed a rape, but said nothing about it. Personally, i think it's pretty self-explanitory.

that's pretty blunt. I think that "in the shape of a palm on the side of her face, everytime you call my name" means that when she would call for him, the sunday school teacher would hit her. good song, great band. too bad they split up; i never got to see them live. |

i think it's about someone who's being sexually abused by their father. Like Frankay615 said, VR is saying to not give up, to escape the wrath of their father. "Does it make you sick? The smell of daddy's sweat. the taste of daddy's spit?" saying that they are raped by their father. That's what I get from the song anyway |
