Blush Lyrics
All I want from you is everything
I ever wanted for just one night
And all i care for is for you
To leave me alone
When the morn comes
Take everything we had away from you
And you away from me
I can't keep you
I can't hold you tight
I can't love you
See, despite my hurtful ways
I can still make you blush
Tremble lips speak
Sound screams
Lover's death
It's time you leave
And all i want from you is all I took
I can't keep you
I can't hold you tight
I can't love you
See, despite my hurtful ways
I can still make you blush
(repeat)
I ever wanted for just one night
And all i care for is for you
To leave me alone
When the morn comes
Take everything we had away from you
And you away from me
I can't hold you tight
I can't love you
See, despite my hurtful ways
I can still make you blush
Sound screams
Lover's death
It's time you leave
I can't hold you tight
I can't love you
See, despite my hurtful ways
I can still make you blush
(repeat)

i wish the whole world knew about the raveonettes, because this song is so amazing.
i agree star. I dont think its there best, but certainly up there.
I think its about the narrator knowing full well the control she has over her lover, and using it to milk all she can out of him/her before leaving them, because she knows she isn't in love with her lover.
I really love this song, and yeah, it's definitely about using/loving and leaving/taking everything that you want from a lover and leaving them behind - But because I'm an eternal optimist, to me it seems like they're still hanging around, because they still think about them, and they know that they can still make their lover blush - and their seems to be a little sadness and regret to their words, because they 'can't' keep them. THe use of the word 'can't' is probably just because it fits much better than 'won't' or something else, but I still like to think that it's significant. So, hopeful meaning: The singer thinks of their past lover, who they spent some time with, but couldn't be with them any longer, and tries not to regret that fact, and while they know that they've hurt their lover, they take a little consolation in the fact that they can still make them blush.
