well i never really thought about harlequin being a clown/joker but the does make sense waht you are all saying about the romance and how the girls are fools. BUT when i first heard this song i assumed that by harlequin he meant slag!! So testosterone boys and harlequin girls Will you dance to this beat And hold a lover close?--- the boys are full of raging hormones where they just wanna do anyone they can and the girls being sluts they let the boys take advantage and sleep around behind they bf backs. but then i remembered that a harlet meant slag so i do agree with basically all the def. people have mentioned. anyway it's about the girl in the relationship having a lover who she's 'at it with' in the back of his car. i guess it must be the best part in the whole ruddy song then 'HEARTS never really loved you anyway'- it kills me everytime, so bitter and angry definately one of thier best!!! ermmm........ummmm so meanings (well i thought the second line was 'that fucker will tie you down' so this is what i think with the lyrics being my way): i think that fucker FFAF speaks so fondly of is either love or life personificated; mostly love actually. to 'soften' the edge of the fact that its over between them hes going to take all that love and passion they had and 'sew' it in they hearts so they never forget what they gave each other and they can remember they love forever. yep, HEARTS never really loved you anyway: pure pain-ridden denial but also pure thruth, it really does help if you can get yourself to believe that you never cared in the first place |
