| Lady GaGa – So Happy I Could Die Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
i completely agree with "insy"'s idea that this song is like a continuation of Just Dance, except that this time, she's painting the drunkeness in a negative light. she's basically saying "you can get drunk and have all the fun you want, but keep in mind that the fun is superficial. you're in a different state of mind." while you're drinking, you're as happy as ever...but when you come down, the world truly bends.
i also see it being about the time when she was addicted to cocaine, and she recalled stories of sitting in front of the mirror doing her makeup for hours on end, sniffing up coke. i really think that the song is from the perspective of the old, drug addicted Gaga she was, talking to the sobered up Gaga and trying to persuade her to go back to where she used to be, and since alcohol can be a catalyst for addictions to come back, the song describes her paranoia about how alcohol can affect her. the one line that supports this theory most is "be your best friend, yeah, i'll love you forever. up in the clouds, we'll be higher than ever." it's basically the old Gaga saying that SHE'LL be Gaga's best friend, and they need nothing else but cocaine to coexist.
i find this profound. tell me what you think. ;) |

to make that last sentence more clear to the storyline: she becomes a pop icon once more because of her downfall after the murder of her boyfriend. |

the latter is correct; the first one wouldn't make sense seeing as her mom is an actress. :P |

| Fall Out Boy – I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me and You) Lyrics

Let me punctuate the song for you:
Last year's wishes are this year's apologies. Every last time I come home I take my last chance to burn a bridge or two. I only keep myself this sick in the head cause I know how the words get you off. We're the new face of failure; prettier and younger, but not any better off: bulletproof loneliness at best. Me and you, setting in a honeymoon, if I woke up next to you. Collect the bad habits that you couldn't bear to keep out of the woods, but I love. A tree I used to lay beneath kiss teeth stained red from a sour bottle baby girl with eyes the size of baby worlds. The best way to make it through with hearts and wrists in tact is to realize two out of three ain't bad.
I hope that helps anyone. By the way, this song will be unveiled at the VMA's by a performance, and the video should have a first look on TRL Monday or Tuesday of next week. Tuesday is the day the physical single will be released. |

never mind. i'm an idiot. it's just the back up singer... but this song is amazing. the lyrics are overall captivating, at times breathtaking. It tells a good story, and all of the ideas you have given really justify it. And the video has the same concept. The line "the death of beauty" completely sums it up. |

this song is about their rough start compared to the great present they have now. present as in now. they are having a great downslope, but it will eventually slope to far. i don't see too many records being released after this one, because i think they will just give up one day. that's how this song seems to me. |

gets off on being down? that's pretty dirty. this song is about looking at the past and wondering about quitting at their careers. it seems to be a message on the record. maybe there won't be a new record after Infinity On High. That's why we should cherish every song and record. because every one could be the last. that is why pete scared me with his suicide attempt... |

this song is purely about hot sex, Sex, SEX!!! come on, every line just screams it. it maybe could be talking of an affair. i hate cheaters. and this could be, like, revenge. you know, a guy goes down on your chic, you go down on his to get revenge. kinda weird to go right after the calm and quiet Golden. funny line-up. |

it is about looking your enemy in the eyes and seeing you were wrong the whole time. maybe an apology made to "heychris"? petey did mess around with chris' girl. that isn't cool. i think he realizes how wrong he was. also, it kinda highlights the reason he attempted to kill himself. he seems depressed in this song, but finds the will to go on. |

| Fall Out Boy – Hum Hallelujah Lyrics

this is totally about his attempted suicide. the "teenage vow" stanza is about his soul. "til tonight do us part" totally sounds like a one night stand, it's talking about how he wanted his soul to evacuate his body that night. the hallelujah does reference leonard cohen and jeff buckley, but mostly it's "Hum Hallelujah that Pete Wentz is still alive and well." basically he's praising his life for what it is. and that hallelujah chant part are supposed to be us the fans. |

this song is about going into therapy and getting inspired by their past. 45 refers to therapy sessions at first, but later, the meaning changes to length of the album, as in, using his problems as inspiration, he hopes to inspire us, or at least make us feel better. |

this song is about a relationship that seems so great, til you break up. then it feels like it was a mistake from the beginning. so the person abandons the other. and becomes miserable. reminds me of me, and i have no idea what the pirate references are all about... |

this song is based completely on the book "Survivor" by Chuck Palahniuk. This doesn't completely disprove everyone's theories, but it would be nice if Fall Out Boy fans who care would listen to the truth i have to say. |
