Since the question what the song means to me...I agree with the others it isn't JUST homosexual relationships. It's any relationship that people would think forbidden or "not appropriate" by public standard. It's about escaping that public opinion who criticize that their love is wrong, or shouldn't exist. Whether it is homosexual, age difference, opposing sides, interracial, etc...they simply wish to go somewhere where they aren't told how wrong they are, and may finally be accepted and can carry on with their relationship freely. Don't we all want that? |

To me this song has deep meanings. "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" makes it start out so innocently. But then it talks about how they can sell something by manipulating people's perception of needs and wants (like with gasoline nowdays). Then they talk about how it escalates into being rich and starting wars. "My cause is noble, my power is pure" is the U.S. idea of how they are, thinking they are saviors of some sort. But then the song progresses into talking about whether or NOT they should save someone, like they are debating if it's worth it. And then more so into the progression of war (guide a missile by satellite, hit a target through a telescope) and ending the world in a holocaust. But then the end...it's "I can ride my bike with no handlebars." If you put the teack on repeat...it's basically sending the message history repeats itself. That things have an escalation, end, start over, and build up. Like a vicious circle. |

| I personally believe this song is about the World War II...however, many things can have DOUBLE MEANINGS. So maybe it is about the war, about the shooting the Jews in line up, about the marching soldiers, the Hitler Youth being brainwashed and losing their minds, and back beat being gunfire, grenades, etc. But like everyone else arguing, the beat of the song is something to dance to or mosh to. So it can also be a song for just getting together and enjoying good music at a concert or in the house (on a good sound system of course!) | |

| Skimming through the opinions here...I am surprised no one noticed his line "I crawl into a bottle". I had been told that the singer had problems with alcoholism. And yes certainly about depression, but its about his escape through alcohol that makes him feel even worse than the depression began to make him feel. | |

| For me...It is like all the other posts have been saying. Being in love with something so beautiful, gorgeous and devious. To love what everyone else loves and wants. However, once you get to know this source you desire...you see they are not as colorful or as beautiful as they appear to be. On the inside, this person is just as "ugly" as everyone else, is not the innocent beauty everyone raved over. This manipulative, heartless person who uses people is what you see now. | |

Well, I think it is more of two people more than media when I listen to it... I see it as this person is a very good actor or actress...and sucking in innocent people. They take away their innocence and that basically "kills" them. Maybe the person doing this thinks its a game because each one he converts is a conquest. Who this person is, I don't know, but some kind of figure robbing us of our innocence we possess when we see what the world is truly about. |

| Insane Clown Posse – Crossing Thy Bridge Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I agree with Hatchette36. What caught me was the "What kind of lives DID they get to live", which is past tense, meaning they're done with the life...the children are crossing the bridge into the afterlife, and without a choice where they get to go or if they even know where they're going (Heaven or Hell) because of their youth. In the first verse however, it's not Deased, it's Diseased...so it may be referring to children struck with some kind of incurable disease who haven't been given a choice to live the way they wished to. They're all down on their knees praying for God to heal them. I think Violent J is more or less saying this is what he sees, and he prays as well and tries to stick to the book, but it's hard when you see prayers that are more heavier than yours not being answered (the sick childrens' prayers) and so he gets lost on the way of "righteousness" because it won't even answer children. |

| The Birthday Massacre – Nothing and Nowhere Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Truthfully, as I think about it, this deity may be Death himself. To relieve pain and suffering of the world, he brings people to peace while they sleep, or fall into that "last sleep". And then you're lead to the Kindgom of Under, which is your grave. | |

This song has a significant meaning to me. It reminds me of a certain somebody I'm writing a story on. In the story, a demon comes to this girl..and he basically tells her he will lead her down the "right" path. To me, the chorus lyrics "And he will save us now, and he will take us underground" Represents how either the demon in my story will either kill her and release her from the depressions (such as fruitless expeditions in love) the world provides, or he will lead her to Hell, which would make anyone think of Earth much differently. "We follow the sound, It's leading us down, Into the kingdom of under. We're lost and we're found We're nothing and nowhere Forever and ever" And to this place the demon may take the girl, may be brought by illusions of a better world, so she follow the "sound" of that. Only when you're dead or you lost in life, but you're remembered and found by name. You're nothing now because you're not living, but you're also nowhere because your soul has left the world. My story was never meant to be fixed on this song, and so when I heard it, it almost made me cry. It has a sweet melody, and the person may not be a demon, but as Okapiqueen said, some kind of deity, but I think it's more darker than Jesus. |

| The Birthday Massacre – Lovers End Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Kind of self-explanatory... A girl is seeing another man behind her boyfriend's (or husband's) back. He catches them, she's freaked out, and seems to be quite the jealous type. So, to make sure she never sees him again, he buries the guy alive, after being knocked out of course. And it's there he'll suffocate and the lover will die. I would also love to comment on the song's music. Though it's about something so dark, it's got this lullaby tone to it and sort of an erotic tone to it. I think that's provided for by the way Chibi whispers the lyrics, though I really don't know if she means it intentionally to sound arousing. :S |

I agree with Remy on the aspect but I wish to add more to it. Indeed it is about society, but more of the stereotypical ways we view girls and guys. Which, sadly for this stereotype, IS true. Girls will touch people without feeling or emotion, especially in teenage years. They act as if the world revolves around them. "Their secrets always far too grim to keep" which is the strive for attention by attracting sympathy. They don't care otherwise as long as they get attention. As for boys, they don't talk about much things such as emotions or their feelings on something. But in their sleep, they dream and "talk" their true feelings and so on. It's like a poem a I wrote named "Humanity's Masquerade Ball". Everyone hides behind some sort of mask and thinks that they're in a comfortable "bubble" and everything is fine. They don't show their feelings because they're busy manipulating or caring more about what they will do the next day. And as our pretty faces die Our broken Hearts will wonder why The make-up just won't hide the scars of time So they grow up and become adults now. Their little masks they wore as teenagers are destroyed and they feel broken hearted because now people are treating them the same way they treated others. And as much as they try to put on makeup, it won't hide their past intentions and way they were, cause even then, they continue not to "care" for others' problems. To them, thinking about such things hurts them and thoughts dont rhyme to them because they never TRIED seeing through another perspective. The song is simply about the Narcissism humanity possesses about itself. |

Well, I don't know about the Schizophrenic thing, but in a way it makes sense to me (considering I am Schizophrenic). Still, I didn't get that vibe off the song. I think it's more of an elaborate story. It's the birthday for the guy she likes (who evidentally likes her back) held at her house. Could be like a surprise birthday party she has held for him, but maybe both planned this to be more of a murder plot. For example, think of all the people you don't like, or maybe family who may try to keep them apart (who won't acknowledge their love). They invite these people to the party and to exact a sort of revenge, they slaughter the guests. She wears a black and white dress, something formal to the occassion but as they finish, the white is tainted with red from blood of slaughter. Using psychology, sometimes when people feel a power trip, they get aroused. The last part seems that after their demonstration of what happens when people get in their way, they finally commit to their love and to better remember the "party", they videotape everything. And what better occasion than on a birthday? Birthdays represent the how you grow older...but it also represent birth of life itself. This could have been more of an occasion of the birth of his "new" self...which is to snap, kill everyone and screw his girlfriend who's just as psychotic as he. That's just my opinion and how I see it. Not saying I'm right, as people portray things differently than others. |
