I can't believe there aren't more posts here...TreeSap said it, this song is pretty awesome. I love when everything kicks in: Thurston's lyrics are perfection, Kim's whisper adds a creepy wisp, the bass is badass, drums create a careful pace, and the SWIRLING GUITAR is incredible! I feel like a million bucks when i hear this song... The whole album is incredible...my favorite since Daydream Nation. |

another awesome song, c'mon guys where are the comments...i love the ending that drones on, it's the perfect length...there are a couple parts of this song that continue longer than you initially expect, it has an unnerving affect that makes you really aware of what's going on...excellent |

I love the microphones, and The Glow Pt. 2 is my favorite album. Their ability to cover such a range of sound on one album is astounding. Placing the delicate "I Felt Your Shape" right before this monster is a perfect example. I love how the wall of sound overpowers everything, yet (with good headphones) Elvrum's whispery voice can still be heard. The melody is hauntingy beautiful and the allusions to silently hunting a polar bear are eerily affecting. Awesome |

This is an absolutely incredible song. The swells in the beginning are perfectly timed to create an ominous backbone. I love how the fragments of guitar reverb just kind of drift out of time with the drums. Then at the 4 and a half minute mark, the lyrics just pour out. I love the pace of this song that builds slowly, but never drags. And the climax at around 7:45 is just shattering. Damn. |

I found this song link on pitchfork this morning after radiohead played it live in Chicago the night before, props to black cow for promptly translating the lyrics (a tough job)...radiohead just can't seem to make a mistake, i've been a fan for about two years now and I can safely say they define everything i love about music |

Elvrum has a wonderful voice and it adds such a tender quality to this piece. The imagery is equally beautiful. I love the contrasting strength of the beast (for some reason I always pictured a moose) with the delicate nature of the bird. And as he's inviting her to come away with him in an offer of protection and guidance, but he still wants her to rain down her tears and be a storm for him, to affect his world...very humbling and beautiful |

Can't believe there aren't more comments here...what a beautiful piece, the dynamics between both characters is such a powerful testimony to their contrasting personalities. The delicate washes of sound also add a wonderful dimension. This was definitely the first song to capture my interest on this complex album that i'm still learning to appreciate. |

There are a lot of thoughtful remarks concerning the meaning of this song...I personally love the flow of Jeff Mangum's vioce and all of the distorted sounds in the background. They all collect to form quite a dense masterpiece at only 1:57. |
